SWTOR's new patch makes a mess, BioWare looking into it [Updated] {Massively}

Jan 18th 2012 4:46PM @(Unverified)

Please, no more "MMORPGs are always evolving", "this game is still new compared to others released years ago" and other crap that fanbois always use to try to explain why we should pay a monthly fee for a game in beta.

The Daily Grind: How much searching do you want in your game? {Massively}

Jan 15th 2012 8:23AM "Most players aren't clamoring for a return to days when you had to draw maps on graph paper as you walked"

No, the sentence should start with
"The vocal minority of old school players that enjoy to walk to school and back uphill both ways in a videogame as a way to raise their self esteem"

But at least I'm sure that for coherence none of them use any kind of GPS navigation in real life...

Blizzard seems to think that Cataclysm was too linear {Massively}

Jan 14th 2012 8:27PM @Space Cobra

The "linearity" of Cataclysm consisted in the sequence you were forced to do quests: often, to enable quests in a quest hub, you had to finish a lot of quests in the previous one.
So it was not possible, for example, to say "Ok, I already did these quests on my main and didn't enjoy them, I'll skip them and go in the next hub", because in the next village no quest giver would be enabled.

In the previous xpacs was almost always possible to decide where to quest inside a zone, losing eventually only some chain quest.

Rise and Shiny recap: The Kingdom of Loathing {Massively}

Jan 8th 2012 4:19PM This reviews is comparable to one done by someone that played WoW or some other MMORPG for 10 minutes and wrote "Well, you have a couple of abilities that you use to kill 10 boars as requested by some NPC. Quite boring".

The Daily Grind: Do MMOs coddle us too much in the early game? {Massively}

Dec 7th 2011 8:27AM I once found in a blog a list of entries about "fun".
Two of them:

1. If I have to do a lot of things that are not fun, to have fun at some later date, the net result is usually a deficit of fun over the total financial quarter.
2. If a thing is described as character building, it is generally as an apology for it not being fun.

Bigpoint sells 2000 virtual space drones for €1000 each {Massively}

Nov 23rd 2011 10:36AM What was the price tag?
€1.000 (1K almost everywhere in EU), €1,000 (€ ONE , almost everywhere in EU) or a simple €1000?

The Daily Grind: Have the post-NDA testimonials changed your mind about SWTOR? {Massively}

Nov 23rd 2011 9:05AM @(Unverified)

C'mon fanboi, he didn't mean "at the same time" but "changing spec".
In WoW paladins, druids can tank and heal, in Rift any class except mages can tank and any class except rogue can heal and I suppose other games have classes with similar versatility.

New Guild Wars 2 demo build brings changes to UI, character creation, and more {Massively}

Nov 10th 2011 11:04AM Reading the last 2 articles about changes (this one and the engineer/pets one), I don't get the impression that the game will be released soon.

Dates outlined for Star Trek Online's free-to-play conversion {Massively}

Nov 10th 2011 5:16AM @Varakkys

Probably at Cryptic nobody ever heard of that obscure game.

The Daily Grind: Are we cheating studios by not paying for free-to-play? {Massively}

Nov 4th 2011 10:41AM Frankly, in all F2P games that remind me (in game) too often how wonderful their cashshop is, I feel compelled to not buy anything (and likely uninstall the game soon after).
