Jul 21st 2008 6:29PM Hmmm, well looking at their past history, WCIII and WoW were planned simultaneously in order for the two games to work off of each other and expand Warcraft lore. This simultaneous development cycle and intentionally staggered release schedule allowed for an appropriate lead in from WCIII into WoW.
It makes sense that they might use a similar strategy with SCII (or D3 for that matter, but decidedly less likely). They can flesh out the lore and the truly massive universe in which Starcraft takes place as primer. Storyline creating interesting hooks and ties that can be further developed in an MMO.
While is is mere speculation at this point, it seemed to work for Blizzard the first time. They certainly know what they are doing, and have show a trend for foresight and meticulous planning.
Jul 16th 2008 5:38PM I am very glad I chose Silver Hand-A on release day. While I don't raid with Leftovers, we have some really great raiding organizations and alternatives to the commonly 'closed' groups on our server.
Silver Hand-A is also home to Casual Raiders, which is another nice raiding organization for those who don't quite fit in, and are hesitant to leave their smaller guild in order to raid. Though CR is based more on those with a busy schedule in order to accomodate raiding.
I definitely tip my hat to Leftovers, glad to see they are still going strong as ever. I hope their success continues, it's definitely an inspiring effort.
Dec 18th 2007 5:53PM I guess I'll switch it up.
