Oct 16th 2007 2:49PM I am very pleased with this change. I'm not Ret and have no intention to ever be Ret (Tankadin FTW!!!), but I'm very happy to see my Paladin brethren getting the tools they need.
On another Paladin note, Drysc confirmed a rumor from a while back regarding Precision: as of the next PTR build, it will affect Spell Hit as well as Melee Hit.
There goes my 0/46/15 build...

Now then, onto the meat. With regards to the (currently announced) changes to Ret, I have only two real complaints: First and foremost, as pointed out by many others, the lack of some form of threat reduction renders these changes nigh useless from a PvE perspective. Should one be implemented (*crosses fingers for Ret-brethren*), I believe Ret Paladins will be in precisely the right place to be a competitive, but not overpowered, PvE DPS class.
My other complaint is regarding Vindication: As nice as the updated effect/duration/proc-rate are, there remains (to my knowledge) a rather glaring problem with this ability. Namely, the fact that almost all bosses and many high-level mobs are immune to it. Were this not so, Vindication could be used as a powerful means to reduce a boss mob's damage output on the tank (although obviously it couldn't be allowed to shave off 15% of the bosses Health bar).
As an aside, while I do understand that this patch (with regards to Pallies) is all about Retribution, I do hope that Blizz decides to throw us Tankadins a bone and tweak our base HP a bit higher.

* Pursuit of Justice (Retribution) is now 3 ranks and increases movement speed by 5/10/15% and also reduces the chance you'll be hit by spells by 1/2/3%.
* Vindication (Retribution) frequency and duration increased and now reduces all attributes by 5/10/15%, not just Strength and Agility.

The current effects of Improved Seal of the Crusader are now being folded into the baseline version of the spell.
Sanctified Crusader is being moved down significantly to become the new Imp SotC.
And Sanc. Crusader's spot is being replaced with the new Sanctified Seals, which increases the paladin's personal crit (melee and spell) rate by 1/2/3% and also reducing the chance that his Seals can be dispelled by 33/66/100%.
