Oct 28th 2008 5:43PM Plus, he talks about how he has to "liberate the Gnomish city of Gnomeregan." But he's Horde! So much for RP. C'mon, that's just sloppy.
Oct 21st 2008 6:17PM Wait, I thought the Druid epic flight form quest required riding 300 - and thus an initial 5000g outlay. Is that not the case? And will the quests remain as an alternative to training?

Look, I've been very civil this whole time. I asked you a few specific questions, and you've been nothing but evasive. And then you decided that us trying to disagree with you was abusive. You have only proven that, contrary to your calls for people to accept different opinions, you have no patience for anyone who might disagree with you. After accusing *us* of hypocrisy *and* ad hominems, I can only conclude that the one with the hypocritical standpoint here is you - and I make this assertion about your statements, not you as a person.
I'm sorry to hear you have given up. This could have been a valid line of inquiry, if you had chosen to discuss the matter forthrightly and honestly.
Oct 21st 2008 5:23PM Funny how you have the same right to post as everyone else, and yet QQ about how you're oppressed. A+++
Cognitive dissonance is delicious...
Oct 21st 2008 5:21PM Your posts have not been deleted. It doesn't even appear they've been downmodded (that seems to only have happened to particularly hateful comments). You have exactly the same rights as everyone else to post your opinion, have it heard and discussed. I don't see a single person accusing you of intolerance, incidentally. And I initially interpreted you "Amazing of ad hominems here" as meaning that I had somehow gone ad hominem. I guess that was ambiguous. If you stop and look at the responses to your posts carefully, I think you will find a) no ad hominems and b) that nobody is accusing you of intolerance.
Now, when someone says "homosexuality is wrong, I don't want my kids hearing about it" - that may be met with resistance. The fact of the matter is that resisting intolerance is not intolerance, any more than taking back something someone stole is stealing. It is the duty of every human being to resist bigotry, intolerance and hate firmly, wherever it may occur. Since you brought up Nazis first - one of the persistent tragedies of the horror of that period was how many people did nothing to resist it. And I think humanity has learned that, on the whole, we can't sit on the sidelines and treat hatred as if it's just another equally valid opinion.
Oct 21st 2008 5:13PM Funny, it doesn't sound like intolerance to me. Did we tell you you were going to hell? Or even a bad person? All we've said is you need to *back up what you're saying* and that we disagree with you. If every time someone disagrees with you you shout "intolerance" then you're guilty of what you try to accuse us of - wanting everyone to march in lock-step with you.
You said it's controversial. We disagreed. You started crying that we were being intolerant. By Jove, when did it become intolerant to disagree with someone?!
Oct 21st 2008 5:06PM Avoiding the question much?
Tell me where I used an ad hominem. One specific example. Or skip that, and just answer my question.
I have friends of incredibly diverse beliefs - libertarians, republicans, devout christians, socialists, you name it. They are usually willing to engage with me on an intellectual level, though - which you have (thus far) not deigned to do.
So, I ask again: what *specific* rights do you feel you lack that gay people have?
Oct 21st 2008 5:03PM I'm going to go ahead and pretend you didn't just compare gay people to Nazis. If you want to apologize, you can, but I honestly don't expect that.
As far as a Christian guild goes, if WoWinsider profiles a Christian guild you can bet I'll give the smackdown to anyone who thinks they shouldn't exist. I just don't troll the forums enough, I guess.
If, however, that Christian guild starts going around saying "god hates fags" or something like that, I will feel pretty okay if people camp their corpses from now until judgement day. Exactly the same as if a GLBT guild went around saying "christians should die". I personally have seen neither, and I hope not to see such behavior ever. However, I *can* say that I've seen the broad player base use homophobic slurs - and never so much as one anti-christian slur. Perhaps you can explain why you are the one being discriminated against?
Oct 21st 2008 4:58PM Amaxe - please define what it is, precisely, you want "equal rights" to. Be vocal that you're straight and not have people say "oh jebus, think of the children!"? Get married to a person of the opposite sex? Adopt children with that partner?
It is not hypocritical in the least to say that we should all be able to co-exist. Your supposed "right" to live in a gay-free world does not trump their right to exist, however.
So please, what right is it you feel gay people have that you do not? Perhaps we can arrange some sort of exchange!
Oct 21st 2008 4:54PM It's controversial that there's an GLBT guild? Man, what's next, an all-female guild deemed "controversial" because they ride mounts, and we all know women shouldn't be allowed to drive?
Please, please, please - join us in the 21st century. Once you start realizing that people can live their life however they want as long as they're not hurting anyone, you'll be much happier here.
