Sep 23rd 2008 2:57AM I was in a similar situation. Eventually I decided to leave because the GM was running off great players and continually setting the guild back. I never looked back and went on to kill Illidan while my old guild still hasn't gone much into SSC. The great part was I was able to give many of my former guildies a home when they got sick of him too.
Aug 19th 2008 7:55PM If they linked loot to party composition next you'd want them to link loot to the ilvl of the armor players are wearing (high ilvl drop = item drops, otherwise do ilvl check against other players current armor).
Aug 19th 2008 3:31PM Orrrrrr, players will get that 'fantastic drop' they wanted in a particular dungeon far faster/sooner and not have to farm the place 10-20 times to see it drop, meaning that they'll already have the item they want and when doing heroics for badges everything will be sharded still. People will gear up faster and better, which is good for everyone, imo.
Aug 19th 2008 3:29PM I disagree. The amount of problems that shared loot will cause should be more than offset by the increased amount of useable loot that everyone finds and picks up. When everyone's able to use more loot there may be a bigger fight for that one awesome epic that 3-5 classes all want, but in the meantime the average excellence of gearing will be far higher on your average player than it has been in the past. Imagine how BC would've turned out if they had never gone the Badge of Justice route *shudder*
Aug 19th 2008 3:26PM Nah, having tanking and dps in the same tree is a ripoff for the other tanks >: The prot pally tanking tree has EIGHT 5 point talents, only one of which is skipped for tanking. The feral druid tree has only THREE 5 point talents, one of which is skipped for tanking. How is that fair? If I'm spending all those talent points on JUST tanking, I'd better be a far more awesome tank that a bear tank, but that's not how it is.
Aug 19th 2008 3:24PM Bears being at armor cap was always a band-aid. Bear armor values were out of control in BC. There's no way they should've been hitting the armor cap unbuffed, it also meant they were missing out on all the armor procs from healing classes, etc. I have a SS on my paladin of me with 31,000 armor from various armor procs, ancestral fortitude, etc. With enough healers on you those procs are up for a significant portion of the fight. With stoneshield potion / elixir that would put me at 34,000 armor which is 1,000 away from the armor cap and with basically the same armor as a bear tank. Bears were missing out on all that scaling due to starting at the armor cap.
Aug 19th 2008 3:18PM There will always be many uneeded drops, something has to be disenchanted, yo? Who cares if green random suffix items drop that are just disenchant fodder? That's free money, not actually meant to be worn. They're meant to supply enchanting mats. It's not until Epics, and to some degree blues that Blizz starts caring about who's gonna wear this and proper itemization.
