Celestial Steed mount and Lil' XT pet to be sold on the Blizzard store {WoW}

Apr 15th 2010 10:05AM Well if you believe MMO-Champion who datamined the pet+mount in the first place (without knowing that it would ultimately be sold at the Blizzard store), the celestial mount is build in the same way as the two seat rocket, ie it acts as a land or flying mount depending on where you happen to be. Also it's speed will match that of your fastest mount. Do if you have say the purple 310% drake, your celestial mount will also fly at 310%. To that extent, you can argue that the mount is "the first useful in-game item you can directly buy with real world money" since it only adds a cosmetic advantage to what you already have.

Now, the real issue that has 600+ people still counting arguing on MMO-Champion is whether it removes some of the epicness from obtaining invicible from Arthas R25 hard mode, the very same mount but with a different skin. I'm happy that casual gamers will be able to obtain their own version of invicible but also agree that does take some value from the feat. Is there a place for MMO magazines? {WoW}

Mar 4th 2010 11:15AM "The magazine announcement actually begs the question about whether there's much sense in publishing magazines for an MMO, a constantly evolving and growing game."

Au contraire, an MMO based magazine about MMOs at large of specifically about WoW could be successful as there's always news, updates etc to be covered whereas there'ds just no demand for a periodical magazine covering just say Super Mario Bros 4. In other words, one off guides are better suited to offline games whereas magazines are better suited to MMOs. Yes, I know there are WoW guides out there but I keep wondering who's buying those as it's guaranteed to be outdated in a very short time frame.

Having said that, whether printed material has any future in an online world is another question alltogether which is what I believe the author was actually asking.

Breakfast Topic: Hi ho Silver, away! {WoW}

Feb 1st 2010 8:18AM I currently have 110 mounts and I must admit my personnal favourite is my fancy spectral tiger. I love getting "gg" or "whoa where did you get that mount?" all the time. Easily one of the most beautifull mount out there.

Spiritual Guidance: Food, flasks, and potions {WoW}

Feb 1st 2010 6:06AM I think you should have included the potion of wild magic in your list. Very handy juste before pulling the boss and while fighting when you need that extra humph.
