Stealth detection items nerfed {WoW}

May 14th 2009 9:19PM Interesting that you bring up the cost/benefit analysis. It made me realize that this change to engineering is exactly the same itemization issues that Blizzard has thrown at warriors with patch 3.1.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Warrior DPS Blues {WoW}

May 14th 2009 5:58PM Really? I'm a tanking class? Even though I suck at tanking, can barely hold aggro and prefer to DPS? You'd rather someone like that tank than DPS when they can put out decent numbers? Though, in my case, I don't put out the greatest DPS numbers and I've been struggling to figure out why. Possibly because I have been sticking with plate gear rather than leather. I work my rear off to put out over 1.5k DPS. Now, I'm only in mostly pre-Naxx gear with a couple of pieces of Naxx gear because my work schedule doesn't allow me to join normal raiding groups and my guild doesn't quite have enough people for a full guild run, though we are starting to attempt. So yes, warrior DPS is abysmally low, especially for those of us who are still gearing up to BiS.

There's a mage in my guild who is still learning aspects of the game and we've had to correct his rotation a couple of different times (and even make sure he has the correct armor applied). Granted, mage = pure DPS where warriors are considered hybrid. Why then, is he putting out over 2k DPS and most times hitting at least 2.5k when I'm struggling to stay over 1.5k? Our gear is even similar in level. Rotation isn't an issue on my end, not that fury warriors have a complex rotation to deal with. Prior to the nerfs, I was comfortably getting nearly 2k DPS. I've since geared up and have gotten from the nerf to 1.3k/1.4k DPS to just over 1.5k, generally right under 1.6k DPS.

Yes, we got nerfed too much.

May 6th 2009 7:09PM I've gotten School of Hard Knocks already, but it took me a bit to do. I'm normally not much of a PvPer, though I did run AB a few times when I was the proper level for it (ie: AV was too high for me to run and I hadn't run into anybody to get me into the other BGs). I got EotS within a couple of hours of the holiday starting, and was actually the last person to run a flag, since it spawned seconds before the battle ended. AV took me probably around 4 or 5 attempts, and I ran it a couple of more times to help my GL get it as well. WSG was a pain for me and took me closer to 6 BG runs, mostly hanging out in the flag room (where absolutely no one was defending) and managed to get it before someone else. AB only took me 1 game, but not my first, since the first game I joined was 2 minutes left until the end and we were losing miserably. The next battle I joined was fresh and I got that one in the middle of it.

This is a badly implemented achievement, but it was actually made worse by everybody's "me" mentality. Attempting it on off-hours made it much easier, as was the 2 pieces of tier PvP gear that I'd had drop in VoA weeks ago.

Breakfast Topic: What do you want to see in the Argent Tournament? {WoW}

Apr 25th 2009 5:48PM What I would like to see? For them to stop giving me so many &^* Alliance lances! I get one when picking up one of the champion dailies, and I get 2 more when picking up my chosen faction's valiant dailies. Including the Argent lance in my bags (I much prefer their lance over the appearance of the Alliance lance), do I really need to have 4 lances? Seriously? Especially when there are how many equipment racks all over the grounds?

Its not a case of it not detecting that I don't have an Alliance lance either, since I'll get the lovely "you can't carry anymore of those items" message after the first one is given to me.

Mar 17th 2009 10:59PM @Mure: I was in a similar boat, I got lucky enough to run HoL as a level 75. Did I do much damage? No, but neither did we wipe. I also got 2 upgrades (hands/shoulders) that I was allowed to need on, since they were clear upgrades for me. They also weren't even able to be equipped until I hit level 78. In this case though, it wasn't necessary for me to equip them, since they were BoP.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Scarce Change on the PTR {WoW}

Feb 27th 2009 4:57PM It is entirely possible to tank with a 2H. It is also quite difficult as well. I did so last night on Mana Tombs with Gorehowl equipped as well as a shield. I'm also only a level 73 and ran it with an upper 60s mage, a 71 priest, a 64 DK and a 65 DK.

I'm also very new to the game (just started in November) and using a non-standard build, created when I was primarily solo-ing and not really part of a guild (planning on respeccing later though and looking forward to dual specs). I state this because as someone who is new to the game, I'm still learning how to handle my class and a good rotation for my play style.

What this means for tanking as a Fury warrior with a 2H equipped, was that I had to be very much on the ball with keeping aggro up and ready to taunt something off of our healer or mage. Then again, isn't that normal for a tank?

In terms of what I'd love to see as a warrior, is for the fights where maybe we get a full rage bar and no opportunity to use a rage dump, a method of turning that rage into health after combat ends, would be lovely. Especially for PvE and levelling (and helping the healers out too).
