May 21st 2010 11:32AM It's understandable to skip a version number. Here's why:
Blizzard's patching convention is: major.minor[.build][revision] (e.g. 3.3.0a). Blizzard's groove has become the following: the major version goes up every expansion, the minor version goes up every new tier/season, and the build goes up for any decent-sized change after that. Revision only goes up for hotfixes.
Now think about the upcoming 3.3.5 patch. As far as we know, there is no new tier/season gear coming out, so they're not going to update the minor version. The only option is to update the build version.
But come on, they're adding a new RAID. That's a pretty big deal. Build versions usually go up for small stuff like UI additions or balance changes. So the mid-ground between increasing the minor version (which is against convention) and increasing the build version (which is too small a change for a whole raid being patched in) is increasing the build version by 2.
People think of version numbers as this whole untouchable perfect numerical order of things. They're really just whatever the developer wants them to be -- nothing more.

Oct 3rd 2009 11:48AM The original WoW cinematic trailer, which was also what convinced me to start playing in the first place, instantly made me want to play a druid when I saw the female NE druid running through the forest shapeshifting into a cat as she jumped over a gap. That was epic.
I've sinced tried out all other classes but eventually landed back on maining a druid.

Jul 26th 2009 5:06AM For those of us with Glyph of Maul (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40897), macroing Maul into our bread-and-butter moves can be bad news for tanking near CCs. I'll always prefer the inconvinience of spamming the button over the possibility of breaking CCs on General trash.

Sep 25th 2008 6:12PM Thanks Dan, that answered my question. And I might go ahead and get one of the current low-ranking ones anyway now that I know there's an achievement for it.
Sep 25th 2008 3:55PM Yeah, but those are all level 70 items that I assume will be replaced by level 80. I'd rather get something that will last me. It's like comparing candy to toys =)
Sep 25th 2008 3:28PM With the reset to honor and battleground tokens announced, I've been scrambling around to find stuff to spend my honor on that will actually last me (like the mounts). Then I came across the PvP trinkets. If I recall correctly, there are currently three levels of these, each better than the last. If you had one pre-BC, it turned into the first-level one when BC came. Is this going to be the same for Wrath? Are they adding more levels of trinkets that we'll have to buy, or are they just buffing the current ones to be level 80 ones?
