Ensidia temporarily banned for exploits {WoW}

Feb 4th 2010 11:29AM I think that Blizzard and Ensidia share responsibility, the former for not testing against an item that would have to be expected, given what hi-end raiders do, the latter for noticing that something went not as it should be and persisting.

This is only made worse when you look at Arthas 10: since it doesn't happen there, it is apparently a bug Blizzard introduced *only in 25* code, making their error worse. And since it doesn't happen there, Ensidia knew for sure that something was odd.

So a three day ban to prevent them getting into the Hardmodes far in advance of everyone else would have seemed fair to me.
Taking away the achievement and having them try again with the fixed encounter would have seemed fair to me.
Doing both smells of Blizzard trying to absolve themselves from all responsibility and is the wrong way to go.

The OverAchiever: Straight to the poorhouse {WoW}

Jan 15th 2010 5:04AM Bit surprised that this hasn't been listed before but since the post is purely on achievements, your gold-cost for the Grand Ice Mammoth is technically incorrect:

The achievement is attained when the mount is bought, not learned, and it can be sold back for 2.5k gold, so the achievement only sets you back 5.5k gold, not 8k :)

Breakfast Topic: So much for Children's Week {WoW}

May 8th 2009 9:39AM Actually my favorite thing about the event was that it reintroduced me the the BGs. I enjoyed all of them except WS yet hadn't played since the launch of Wrath. So Orphan's week actually got me quite a few of the PvP achievements.

And either Alliance got even more incompetent in the mean time or the rush of Achievement-seekers sabotaged them. Started an EotS with 2 Horde, 15 Alliance, went over the "too few players"-mark after 4! minutes and won the BG 2000:1800 points :) And got the Achievement.

And yes, the picture is pure win.

Breakfast Topic: What's the best pun name you've ever seen? {WoW}
