But what's going to hit everyone square in the face liek a Mack truck when MoP goes live, is how detailed they are in terms of expressions and animations compared to the existing races. They even have animated *hair", for gawd's sake.
In short, the Pandaren look like they belong to a different game entirely. Even the worgen and goblin models look distinctly second rate compared to what I've seen of the pandaren. So I shudder to think how terrible a human or tauren model is going to look by comparison.
Surely Blizzard must see this as well. I know they have their hands full sorting out gameplay issues with the Beta, and I know they've said that the racial modelling issue is important to them - but honestly? They should be working on new models for all the races as a matter of priority, seriously, and not just "soon". If they can't get new models and animations for the other races in for the launch, they should at least be looking to complete the revamp during MoP's patch cycle.
Otherwise? Pandaren are going to make everyone else look really *bad*, for a couple of years. And that's not a good situation to be in for people attached to existing mains (i.e. everyone)

The thing is...chances are good that if you're bothering to reforge at all, you'll already know relative stat weights for your class.
Having said that, I use the addon Reforgenator. Because eyeballing the stats manually and tallying values across several pieces of gear is way too much for my simple brain to comprehend at once.

Jan 9th 2012 11:48AM I used to be in a retro guild back in WLK. Having actually raided MC, BWL, ZG and AQ back in Vanilla, I can state that nostalgia really does belong in the past.
Basically, with the talent, class, and gear revamps that have occurred since classic, a level 60 toon was comparatively overpowered in WLK, I can only imagine that it's even "worse" since Cataclysm. You know how you can steamroll low level instances nowadays? Yeah, hitting MC and BWL was kinda like that; we only had 20-25 players in the raid at any given time and we cleared MC and BWL within 2 hours every Wednesday. Plus addons have become so prevalent nowadays that it made the encounters even more trivial. AQ40, however, remains a tough instance. That's probably the closest you'll get to "classic" raiding difficulty with a 60 toon today.
Oh, and if you'd like to tank those places as a feral druid or protection pally? Be prepared to roll on tier that's itemized exclusively for resto and holy, respectively. Tankadins and bears didn't exist in raids back then.
In other words, the game's progressed passed the legacy content, to the point that even with a 60 capped toon, you're not going to experience those old raids "as they were" back in classic. And to be honest, that's probably a good thing.
A few things remained the same, though. You still need a rogue for the suppression rooms in BWL. And druid tier still seems to drop 90% of the time while Ashkandi remains a myth...goddammit.

Agreed. A three hour ban is an absolute joke. It should have been a week.
Taking away the gear is just a slap on the wrist. These so called pro guilds can now run the normal modes with the benefit of their experience from the dozens of shady LFR gear up raids they ran.
I was hoping Blizzard would have had the balls to hit these cheats where it hurt, but I'm not too surprised they shied away from it, more's the pity.
