Jan 27th 2011 1:03AM That's a great idea. Let's also make a rule that no gear not earned with honor can be used in Battlegrounds or Arena. After all what's good for the Goose is good for the Gander.

Jan 7th 2011 2:06AM Enhance is awesome at the moment because you essentially have a free purge in a world where there is no dispel protection, and three of the healers rely on enchantments to actually, you know, HEAL. Your wolves currently heal for more than most Priests do in an entire arena match. Your CC is instant and undispelable by most comps, not to mention on a ludicrously short cooldown considering the length of it.

Resto gained all the advantages of a defensive dispel in Cataclysm, gained healing power, and has the only effective dispel protection right now in Earth Shield. Not only can they defensively dispel, between Grounding, Tremor Totem and Wind Shear a good one can effectively render his entire team invulnerable to CC for the entire game.

Elemental is crap, and could use some help. Maybe it will get it now that Bloodlust is going away.

Frankly you should be damn grateful that you didn't eat more nerfs already. You WILL get them in the future, but Blizz has other things on their minds right now. People tend to complain more about overwhelming damage than an effective immunity to CC, but your time will come.

I played a resto shaman in S7 and S8. We were good, now we are amazing, and it's gonna get nerfed. It's just a matter of time.

It doesn't hurt Shamans in the slightest, as they are already in a great place and will have to be nerfed again anyway. What it actually does is screw Hunters who are already struggling in Arena.

This entire expansion could be called "Great in Theory, Cataclysmic in Practice". At least as far as PVP is concerned. They constantly miss the mark, and end up shooting random passersby.

Jun 25th 2010 12:07AM What they are doing is pretty standard Chinese stuff. Closing the market to outsiders, and keeping it closed. Chinese produced games will continue to feature exactly what they ban, and be ignored until they offend somebody in the Ministry. At which point the game will be shut down.

It's just the way business is done there, and really no different than having to have a license to cut hair here in the U.S.A. It's a move by a lobby to gain influence within a market.

Jun 18th 2010 12:16AM I'll play this because Swordsman II was one of the coolest movies I've ever seen. Jet Li and Bridget Lin at their best. If they can keep it true to that vision and the novels of Louis Cha I'll pay for it.

What I'd love to see now is somebody get a Pili puppet drama mmo going. Somebody in Taiwan needs to step up to the plate on that.

The only point I will take with it is "it's an easy way to ensure balance of power by limiting how many players from each faction can play in a given area."

The factions in these systems tend to be unbalanced. In this particular game I'll bet you dollars to donuts that the Hell side is overpopulated. If a game is PVP oriented and the best rewards are to be had by sieges or whatever, you can limit the number of people from one faction, but you can't magically create members of the other. As members of the weaker faction tire of being squashed and transfer to the other faction or servers where their faction is dominant, the developers have to come up with more solutions to balance that out, effectively adding development time in another position.

If factions must be had, I personally like there to be 3 factions. However, WOW has two factions and who can blame developers from sticking to a tried and true formula, even if it's stale?

May 26th 2010 12:20AM I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Dueling factions are a bad idea for a PVP game. They stifle the real reasons that people fight, and substitute artificial racism. Not to mention that it's old, boring, and smells of wow cloning.

Give people real reasons to fight and you get wars. Give them artificial reasons and you get ganking.

May 4th 2010 1:05AM You don't even realize that as someone completely intolerant of RMT you are just as much a part of the problem as the people buying the gold. Your intolerance is what keeps companies from taking reasonable steps to combat the problem, like using Eve's Plex system.

If you legalize the market, you can do something to control the market, and suddenly there is no profit in hacking accounts, phishing, or spamming. The sellers then dry up.

Pretending that a grind in a game is somehow more noble than a grind you already have to do in life is the height of self delusion.
