Jun 25th 2008 5:25AM "Auction House Drama on Argent Dawn. The accused shows up, too. He's been shopping for bargains on the Neutral Auction House, and he's unrepentant."

Oh wow, this thread makes me wish I could post on the US WoW forums. What a bunch of ill-informed muppets there are in this thread. The guy did a legitimate thing in a legitimate way. And from what I could see (I couldn't bear to read it all cos I was screaming at my PC) no one asked why the "transferrers" didn't put a large price on the item to secure it. Sure they'd lose 5% in the transfer, but what's 10-15g in the grand scheme of things? I'll be ninja'ing the Neutral AH more regularly from now on I think...

Battleground fallacies {WoW}

Jun 24th 2008 7:31AM I disagree with most you have to say about AV and WSG, whilst your comments on AB and EotS do stand up.

Whether we like it or not, honor is yet another grind in WoW. Sure, most of us enjoy BGs, but when you need to earn 200-300k honor on every toon, and more every Arena season, you don't need every battleground you run to be a glorious strategic encounter. Basically, if I have one enjoyable match and 10 quick AV wins/losses in a session I'm happy. Hell, I'll take just the 10 quick AV wins/losses if pushed.

The quickest honor in AV comes from a rush, if well executed. Horde grab the four Alliance bunkers, a handful take care of Balinda, return the Wing Commanders and take down Vann after the last bunker burns. Alliance do their bit with our towers, and we all hit Vann/Drek at about the same time, racing to kill them. 378 honor for the loser, 544 honor for the winner, plus a smattering of HKs maybe. A winning rush like this regularly takes 12 minutes (Al'Akir-EU premades FTW!) so that's around 2300 honor/hour assuming you win 50%.

Clearly we can't orchestrate both sides sticking to the plan every time, but if your team does that can work to your advantage. Rushing as above, but the 5-10 from Balinda recapping IBT and TP after the Alliance has run past can pretty much secure the win, and an additional 84 honor for the towers held. The key is defending bunkers that you capture and securing the forward graveyards. Within 5 minutes of start a successful team will have SP GY and AS, and DB North/South contested, with IW and SH nearly burned (but still defended).

Regarding WSG, I am a firm believer in a rush to the flag. 10 players grabbing the enemy flag and streaming down the tunnel/ramp will meet the opposing flag carrier in the midfield at worst. Ensure that healers are watching the flag carrier (who should be a resilient class) and intercept/slow the enemy FC until your FC (and his 2-3 man entourage) are past the enemy group. Then, focus on burning down the FC's healers whilst slowing the FC some more, you should be able to return the flag as your FC reaches base. Yes it sounds simple, but more often than not it works when properly executed.

Understanding the Cheat Death nerf {WoW}

Jun 19th 2008 11:23AM @Ryuhou: Spoken like a true levelling player - do you not do BGs or Arena? PvP isn't just about ganking in STV or killing people randomly in Azeroth. Try BGs and Arena where you usually do have support... if you're going to be successful that is - teamwork FTW.
