15 Minutes of Fame: Members only {WoW}

Aug 25th 2009 1:43PM Sorry, but I think you're wrong. I completely disagree with people that try to justify playing on a private server, but I think that wow.com did a good job bringing this story up. It was interesting to read about this, and hearing about the limitations on private servers make the practice even more ridiculous.

Requiring epic achievements for normal runs {WoW}

Jun 17th 2009 1:17PM Sadly, pugging is pugging you know?

I mostly pug raids, and I've been in all sorts. Of course, I've been in plenty pugs that have been ruined by not even doing the most basic gear check on invites.

On the other hand, I've been in some pug raids that have been extremely picky about who they let in. This doesn't mean that everything runs smoothly when the raid gets underway. Gear checking/achievements/high scores on wow-heroes or whatever do NOT mean that the raid will run itself - even on something like Naxx 10.

I would rather be in a well-organized and well-led pug with some lesser geared people vs. a group of Ulduar geared people in a group with no leadership.

Defining "PuGgable" {WoW}

May 7th 2009 10:22AM A request for courtesy when dropping people from a pug.

I don't mind people heavily screening pug members, but I just ask that people communicate to you when dropping you from a group. I've had people add me to a pug raid and then drop me before it starts without a word. While my gear isn't great (hence the need for raiding), I'm not trying to go into these things with quest greens or anything. I understand the need to be selective with pugs, but it goes a long way to quickly tell people, "Sorry, your gear isn't good enough. We're dropping you from the raid".

Nov 21st 2007 6:45PM Athalon 64, 1.5 GB RAM, Radeon X800 Pro. All I know is that it means I can't even play Bioshock. For God's sake, that should qualify me for winning this beast.
