15 Minutes of Fame: Mage(ic) with numbers {WoW}

Jun 24th 2008 6:28PM believe it or not - this guy is/was the only nice mage on the mage forum. my first main was a mage and i've leveled a lot of classes since and on all forums people are pretty helpful and friendly except for mages. they are a bitter, bitter class (rightly so being mediocre at everything). after being told to 'roll lock' for asking my newb questions i took the advice and have yet to look back. sorry to see Lhivera banned, though.

15 Minutes of Fame: MMA fighter grapples with full-contact WoW schedule {WoW}

May 6th 2008 6:34PM I can smell the trolls licking their chops as they get ready to jump on this kid.

I just want to say I think it sounds like he has his stuff together. He seems to know what makes him happy. How many people can say that?

This feature rocks, btw. Thanks WI for providing some content for people fascinated with the social/meta aspects of MMOs.

Steve Aoki hates World of Warcraft {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2008 4:29PM Ladies and gentlemen, what you are reading is called a "blog." The purpose of a blog is to link to any and every bit of semi-interesting information you find about the topic of your blog, whether it's earth shattering or not. (The focus of this blog is anything and everything that has to do with World of Warcraft for those who are taking notes). Unlike say a novel or newspaper, the focus is quantity not quality. Quality is subjective. Obviously, most of you trolls don't care about this guy but for the small portion of the reader base that does, it's interesting. The great thing about these blogs we are hearing about so much nowadays is they are constantly being updated with short, easy-to-read entries so we can quickly move on past the stuff we are not interested in and stop to delve into the things we actually care about. In other words: L2internets.

Shifting Perspectives: Bear Tanking Strategies Part 1 {WoW}

Feb 19th 2008 3:25PM Druid guide or not, thanks for this great threat tutorial. I've only ever played DPS and I've always wondered how tanking works. If I'm not waiting for 3-5 sunders, my general strategy is to not be the first DPS out the gate - real scientific, i know.

I had no idea about how range affects your DPS buffer. With a 30% cushion, maybe I should be pushing it even harder when Omen says i've exceeded 90% of threat? Maybe I'll set my warning to 120%? I'm looking forward next week to understand how the bear generate threat. It's really a mystery to me. Someone should do this for pally tanks, too.

The AV map imbalance in patch 2.3: a different perspective {WoW}

Feb 8th 2008 3:01PM The way to fix AV is to equalize the honor gained from from all battlegrounds. The real reason people get fired up about AV is because, if you want welfare epics, you have to grind AV. You're wasting your time anywhere else. People want the honor not the balance. All these arm chair war generals and their unbalanced, biased philosophies would take a hike if you could walk into any BG and make the same amount of honor. That means eliminating the possibility of one side getting no honor, too. If Blizzard did this they'd see less QQ.

Breakfast Topic: If you could change one thing... {WoW}

Dec 27th 2007 4:17PM I'd like to see a Web site setup outside of WoW for AH day trading by server. Even better is if it'd work on cell phones and you could setup alerts.

I always wonder if I'm missing deals while I'm at work. "Hmmm...what are Primal Nethers going for right now?"
