Draw Frostmourne, win fabulous prizes {WoW}

Breakfast Topic: How to make WoW work on the silver screen {WoW}

May 7th 2008 2:52PM I really like the idea of TWO MOVIES followed by a 3rd. I think everyone would gasm over that.

Duncan as Thrall actually sounds pretty good. I've always really liked that guy, and his voice would be perfect. After turning him into an orc you might not be able to tell its him right away.

I'd like to see this movie make some unknowns into stars though. I'm surprised someone hasn't mentioned a Chuck Norris casting, which would make for epic inside humor for the players. Even though I can't stand the guy.

One thing is for sure. Blizzard will be delivering shock and awe well into the future (I bet they announce D3 this year). I could see Legendary doing an extremely good job with that IP (it's always been my favorite). Am I a fanboy? Hell yes I am. Blizzard is the best.

May 7th 2008 9:38AM I for one bet they show an Abomination (they got kinda close in 300). I think they will do a very good job with the undead and scourge. As long as they don't make the humans a pack of male cheerleaders (sorry, I play Horde) then I'll be happy. I want dark, dirty, jaded characters.

I bet they inject a lot of humor, which always makes war movies even better. The dwarf and gnome will probably provide this splendidly.

Knowing that I watch 300 3-4 times, I think it's safe to say that the fight scenes will be thoroughly badass, and probably rated R (as it effin should be). I'd like to see them take a look at The Messenger, Braveheart, 300, and LoTR and set the bar a little higher than what they see there.

One thing is for sure... this movie will not disappoint. WHEN has blizzard disappointed you with a cinematic? I don't see why they'd start now, even if it is "live action" there will be plenty of CG in every scene.

To me, the golden rule of war movies is the action. Make good, cool, blood and thunder war scenes an no one will bitch about it. Start throwing in one liners and stuff before people swing their sword and it starts getting hoaky, LoTR did that, especially in the last one (Legolas skating down a flight of stairs on a shield while fighting? Cmon).

If there is any doubt in your minds... rent/buy 300 and find the spot where Leonidas starts kicking ass in slow motion, especially the sheild bash.....

Let us play Broken {WoW}

Apr 23rd 2008 12:47PM I for one would love to place as an all skeletal forsaken. It's my favorite part of Hallows Eve
I've always thought goblins are the perfect answer to the Allies gnomes. Only problem I see there is that all nuetral towns are ran by goblins. And didn't goblins plate Deathwing with adamantium to get him to side with the Horde? Maybe a lore malfunction when it comes to goblins... I dunno, maybe they could make a faction of goblin-ish types that horde could be. Forsaken Goblins? Talk about a badass warlock toon... I love thier voices too, I used to talk like that being funny when I was a kid

Addon Spotlight: WoW Interface.com our salvation? {WoW}

Mar 26th 2008 4:39PM wow... I'm glad I got my UI all re-buttoned up last night, I used that exact site and it's doomed now.

Shifting Perspectives: The same old animal posterior {WoW}

Oct 17th 2007 4:28PM @ 7 I like your idea A LOT. I think we all can agree on at least one thing, as popular as WoW is, it'd be nice if we had better graphics and more personalization options. I would LOVE to see a dye feature a la UO (that game was so far ahead of it's time). I think if Blizzard implemented more personalization options into the game it'd leave a lot less room for us to bitch about things.

I know it's extra modeling, code, etc.. and I am sure they are busy with things to do. But if they don't make some really nice personalization options available soon, the next big MMO is going to make sure THEY do and that's what we'll all be playing.

WoW gets so many things right, but I think character personalization is were they are really lacking. It would add so much to the game to be able to dye our armor one of 256 colors, change our appearance, get tattoos, haircuts, fill in your idea here ______ .

I want player housing extremely bad. And if I see an MMO get it right, I will most likely be making the switch, at least until WoW comes out with their own. I think instanced housing would be ideal. with the ability to pick from various land/house designs. We could set permissions for people to access it, and have ways to boot people out. Furthermore, guild forts/garrisons/castles would really be awesome. I dream of the day I can mine ore and go back to my house, smelt it, and beat it into weapon or armor x, then take it to the AH to sell.

I think the whole game could use some tweeking visually.

just my ideas...

Insider Trader: Here, fishy-fishy ... {WoW}

Sep 28th 2007 11:00AM If you have a wii, and a USB bluetooth adapter it super easy, takes 15 minutes to set up. Once you get the hang of it, you'll never fish the old way again.

It was an old article here on WoW Insider. Just do a search at the top of the page for "fishing wiimote" and you can find the article, has a video too. Although it shows more lag than I have for some reason. It's great

Insider Trader: Here, fishy-fishy ... {WoW}

Sep 28th 2007 10:29AM I've been using my wiimote for fishing and it's GREAT. I started a BE mage alt, and am making lots of money selling cooked fish, as well as raw fish to hunters. I'd love to see fishing get even more interactive, almost like a minigame.

I know this is supposed to be about fishing, but what do you guys think of them introducing mini games in WoW? It would be great to actually have something to do in those chairs at the inn. My best friend lives moved 3 hours away, and WoW is how we keep in touch mostly. Playing board games while voice chatting and drinking some ale at Firebeard's would be an awesome way to relax after a few hours of grinding or an instance run. Or waiting for BG or a raid for that matter. Bring us minigames!

Chinese MMO puts the kibosh on 'dem "less feminine" female characters {WoW}

Sep 25th 2007 4:02PM @ 11, I hear you. I draw a lot too, and prefer to draw females. I guess if I really thought about it, in order to take your figure drawing beyond a certain level you have to study anatomy, often in great detail, and constantly make references.

I would much rather refer to female anatomy than male, it just interests me more, it's more appealing.

I suppose the same goes with a WoW character. You are spending A LOT of time with that character if you are going to play them to 70. My main in a female NE, sometimes I just strip her clothes off. Try that with a male night elf and see if you don't feel some gay vibes after a few seconds.

I agree, I would pay double for a 18+ server. How can they have events like Brewfest in a server that has tons of minor's on it anyway? Isn't that "promoting alcoholism"? I know I'm gonna pick up a six pack of Sam Adams when I come home to play while brewfest is happening, wouldn't that encourage youngsters to do the same? It's gotta strike some politically correct chord somewhere. Personally I don't have a problem with it, they can do away with the default underwear and language filter as far as I'm concerned. :)

Breakfast Topic: If real life were a patch {WoW}

Sep 25th 2007 10:35AM Hahaha... @ 1 and 14. Excellent

*Fixed the issue with Herbalism and Alchemy causing the Local Law Enforcement faction to aggro.

*Mounts no longer take damage, also, the Insurance skill requirement has been removed from the game.

*You no longer must pay taxes to your faction. NPC's were reported to be exploiting the use of these funds to pay for issues outside of their zone.
