Report Card: How do the new phase 1 dailies measure up? {WoW}

Mar 27th 2008 12:25PM On a limit test run yesterday with my herbalist alt, I did not get any of the residue to drop from the inhabitants of Quagg Ridge.

Phase 1 Dailies: Gaining the Advantage {WoW}

Mar 27th 2008 10:51AM I agree. Doesn't the quest narrative actually say "residue gathers in all Outland herbs"???!!!

Phase 1 Dailies: Gaining the Advantage {WoW}

Mar 27th 2008 6:57AM Can any herbalists confirm whether they got any Nether Residue from the mobs in Zang? I killed stuff in Quagg Ridge for five minutes and did NOT get any, but maybe someone can confirm?

Agree with other posters, the drop rate is low, and this quest is time-consuming. You just have to pick it up first thing in the morning, and gradually collect the residues during the day. It took me over two hours on Tueday to do it, and have not completed it a second time yet. It's probably the only daily I will not do regularly.

Breakfast topic: The best parts of patch 2.4 {WoW}

Mar 26th 2008 8:51AM Didn't do much of the content but liked -
- fishing daily quest. Did the crocolisks in SW one and got some cufflinks that sold for 11g at a vendor.
- Shattrath Sunwell dailies. Two were relative easy (Sunfury plans in Netherstorm, multiphase testing in Naggers).
- minmap of the Sunwell Isle in Shattrath looks really good.

DIDN'T like -
- drop rate on the Shat Sunwell daily for Nether Residue. Don't set out to do this quest in one go. Just take it at the start of the day, and you will gradually complete it.
- idiots unable to find badge vendor in Shattrath, despite the HUGE crowd of alts on the ledge that were not there before.
- trade channel flooded with people asking 'how do I get to Sunwell' or other questions indicating that they did not read the patch notes.

Breakfast Topic: Where would your characters "retire" to? {WoW}

Mar 12th 2008 9:32AM For druids, it should be Moonglade, so they can join the 'emerald dream' for eternity.

Drysc weighs in on the mysterious lost Titan city of Uldum {WoW}

Mar 11th 2008 2:34PM I hope they implement Uldum at some point in the future as an instance. I have fond memories of it, simply because of the first time I completed the whole 'platinum discs' min-quest line and got gargantuan chunks of XP for it.

Whenever I go into Uldaman now, my party is always bemused by me yelling "Don't forget the platinum discs!"

Breakfast Topic: Potential playable races {WoW}

Mar 5th 2008 8:45AM Consortium for the Alliance; arrakoa for the Horde.

Racials - consortiums (consortia?) could have some kind of 'phase out' ability that reduces damage taken. Arrakoa some sort of ability connect to the wind/air - maybe a short duration cyclone or something similar?

As an ethereal, you get the cool tip-toe run. As an arrakoa, wobbly toothy beak when spell casting.

Ethereals chould probably be restricted to rogue, mage, paladin, hunter. Arrakoa can only be druid, shaman, priest, warlocks.

How to use the Lunar Festival for easy lowbie travel {WoW}

Feb 18th 2008 3:13PM Also, for low level toons, the XP from simply 'discovering' Moonglade and Nighthaven can be significant. Throw some fireworks in one of the major cities, and then accept the quest to speak to Valdarr in Nighthaven. When you complete it you should get 1250XP, which is a huge chunk of one level.

From jumping around the major cities, you can easily collect 6 Ancestor coins, which can be traded for some decent mana/health regen dumplings as well.

Are daily quests leaving casuals behind? {WoW}

Feb 12th 2008 1:16PM I find dailies to provide a finite amount of 'WoWing' that I can do when I only have a set amount of time in which to play during the week. Log on in the morning, I can quickly do the cooking daily while having breakfast. If it is Super Hot Stew, park my character in Ogrila and do those dailies first thing in the evening. If cooking daily takes me to Skettis, park there for day and come back to do daily bombing. Haven't started in SMV yet. They provide quick, regular income.

Breakfast Topic: What do you like best about your class? {WoW}

Feb 4th 2008 8:53AM I love my druid because I can DPS in catform through quests, but tank my way in bearform thorugh instances. And still bring some second-tier healing to the party when needed.

Also - flight form. No chance to be knocked off mount (except by fel cannons in Blade's Edge).
