Mar 14th 2012 10:31AM MoP looking more and more like a visual competitor to GW2. Now if Blizzard announces some form of World PVP, I can see a real competition looming. Dynamic events? Who knows?
Jan 27th 2012 12:17PM Blizzard has announced the first wave will be restricted to gnomes. This is to keep in-game complaining to a minimum and raise the level of intelligent feedback. I don't know if I completely agree with this, but it makes sense.
Sep 21st 2011 12:56PM I play both sides, therefore I have no complaints.
Aug 7th 2011 9:46AM I canceled my subscription and can play until Sept 9, yet I rarely log on these days. I may use game cards to return to WoW for short periods when each new patch comes out, but won't linger. Perhaps the next expansion in late 2012 will bring something to draw me back. Time will tell.
I have been searching for a new MMORPG, but so far have not found one that suits my niche. Looking forward to Diablo 3, SWTOR, GW2 and whatever MMORPG Blizzard has planned.
Aug 5th 2011 5:48PM BOE? I'm not so sure everything will be BOE. Could there will be no binding? One could use an item for a while and then sell it.
Also, thought I read players may be able to sell their characters on the AH. That would be fun and intriguing.
Aug 1st 2011 2:50PM When Diablo III comes out, I'm quitting WOW and buying Diablo III.
Aug 1st 2011 2:10PM You said, "Gold won't be worth s**t."
Not so. You can use gold to buy items, and then sell those items for cash.
There will be arbitrage.
Aug 1st 2011 2:00PM Bye bye Soulbound items. That is my prediction. Everything will be BOE. Everything will be for sale.
IMHO, this will make its way into WoW with the next expansion.
Jul 31st 2011 9:49AM I am a solo player. I have been playing since 2005. From the hours played, you would call me a very hardcore player. I have been in many guilds. Currently I have multiple characters across 3 large guilds. Today, the only reason I join guilds is to stop all the guild invites. The reason I join large guilds (900+ members) is so I can ignore the guild chat when I want to and not be critized for it.
I have been to the top, and found no satisfaction in being there. On one character I had advanced to the top of pvp, I found the ony thing left for me to do was stand around Iron Forge and let everyone see my gear/title. After about 5 minutes, well maybe more like 20 minutes, I found it so boring that I never again played that character. I eventually deleted it.
IRL, I have also been to the top. I also found no enjoyment in that. I loved my job when I was just one of the boys. Unfortunately, I let my ambition drive me into higher and higher positions. I recall with great happiness my days of being a grunt and socializing with my fellow workers. I am saddened when recalling my days of rising through the ranks and the loneliness I felt. Many times I look back and wish I had refused the promotions, but I was good at what I did and promotions came easily.
I retired at the age of 55 to get away from the madness. Today I am happy. I have a beatiful wife. We have a large close-knit family of children and grandchildren all living within close proximity that are the biggest joy in my life. Needless to say my wife is a social butterfly which I love about her. As for myself I continue to play WoW when I have the time, and like many of you, I am looking for a new MMORPG with some hope of GWII being a success.
May 26th 2011 9:04AM I have done all the PTR's primarily out of curiosity. Other than getting new gear, for me this PTR is generating the least enthusiasm of all the PTR's. I don't know why. Maybe I have been playing WoW too long. Maybe I am burnt out. I feel the need for something new, but not a WoW clone. I have been scannig MMORPG.com lately, but see little of interest other than the Guild Wars 2 beta this fall. Oh well.
