Giving up on conquering WoW {WoW}

Oct 26th 2009 6:18PM Nothing will ever kill WoW but time. Even when WoW goes away, nothing will ever reach these numbers, probably not even Blizzard's next MMO. While it has been a fantastic success, in a way it's bad for the MMO genre. I started WoW just after release, and it's coming up on its 5 year anniversary. How many longtime WoW players are going to just migrate to another MMO after WoW dies? It has burned through the mass of people that were potential MMO players and became an addiction for many of them, including myself. When the true successor with all the potential of WoW is released, who is going to look back on their years of WoW and say, "Yeah I think I want to go through all that again"?

Do tanks get the most out of PuGs? {WoW}

Jul 26th 2009 3:59PM It's pretty simple. I've said it since pre-BC when I was a warrior tank from then till halfway through BC. And now that I've been tanking again (as a paladin) I'm remembering it all again. Tanks make or break groups. That simple. Doing pugs on one of my dps or healer classes often changes the meaning of pug from pick up group to pick up gun. But as a tank, I'm in control. It all depends on how quick I can react to the pants-on-head-retarded dps I'm stuck with that pulls aggro before I've even hit a mob and all that. It's very rare to find an healer that's that kind of bad (I've seen two or three in four years). If you're worth anything as a tank, you'll find pugs easy. A healer has far less control over the situation. There's not a whole lot you can do to help a bad pug.

More calls for midlevel content, the return {WoW}

Jun 2nd 2008 5:27PM I'd like to see new stuff in the old world zones, sure. But after just finishing leveling my 5th to 60, the one thing I want to see more than anything else is a rework of the quest rewards. Like, actually make em useful. Seriously. Somebody mentioned in a previous comment that the things that Blizz learns should trickle down to the lower level content, and I couldn't agree more. We shouldn't have to rely on boe greens from the AH, which for some classes are ridiculously priced because they could be used for PVP twink gear, and for some classes, sometimes it can be hard to find items with the proper stats for whatever it is you're rolling.

And while they're at it, a rework of the 1-300 professions like blacksmithing, leatherworking, and tailoring would be very nice as well. When I leveled my druid I used about 2 items that I made...think it was Nightscape Headband and Blackstorm Leggings, so many items are terribly itemized, just makes leveling a profession while you level feel like more of a chore. I've made up my mind that my shaman will be the last I ever level, but if changes like this were made, I'd have no hesitation at leveling again.

Getting Death Knights epic in only 25 levels {WoW}

May 26th 2008 4:56PM stop qqing over something 6-8 months away.

but but ppl need 1-55 leveling to lrn2play. riiiight. cause i've never grouped with terrible lvl 70s.

"I think Blizzard is making a huge mistake by only letting DKs start at 55. Nevermind the huge crush of DKs that will be created when the expansion first hits;"
Yeah. like all the people that rolled Belf Paladins and Draenei Shamans when TBC came out, cause they all leveled to 70 and made them their mains and omg theres just so many.

"the bigger problem is that DKs will be the only class people roll as an alt just because they don't want to grind out those first 55 levels."
does it really bother you that much? yeah, everybody should play through 1-60 content several times cause it was amazing and perfect and the itemization is there for all specs and classes and just so much fun. riiight.

"The annoying thing about that thread on the WoW forums is all the Blizzard fanboys whose only justification for anything seems to be "ITS A HERO CLASS!!1"

Death Knights aren't be made more powerful than the other classes. The other classes should feel just as epic and heroic. Besides, paladins have just as much epic lore behind them, and they have to start at level 1."
I know its hard to understand lore, but heres how it goes. A level one Death Knight is impossible according to the lore. None of the kids in Azeroth grow up sayin I wanna be a Death Knight when I grow up. No, they become Paladins, and Warriors, and if they got a little of a darker streak in em, they become rogues, warlocks and the like. Death Knights are people that have been corrupted by the Lich King. Why would he seek out people fresh off the farms of Elwynn and make them in to Death Knights? They are some of the Lich Kings most powerful servants, and as such he would want only strong and experienced soldiers to recruit into his ranks.

Staying out of Outland {WoW}

May 16th 2008 9:30AM I always wait till I ding 60 to get started in Outland. Starting earlier just means you just have to do more quests in Outland on the way to 70, which is fewer to do at 70=less money.

Almost famous (in WoW) {WoW}

May 13th 2008 12:53AM Yeah on Terenas we definitely have more infamous characters than famous. I was just wondering why Celtico could be considered when there has been way bigger ninjas...Energizerbun sticks out in my mind, only Domo chest ninja ever on Terenas, but seems that the only people that remember him are the ones that were there :[ I guess Celtico's only rival for top spot might be Sacklessalt, forum troll great of the old days...plenty of /trade a**hats but that's easy (i.e. Nois lol)
