Aug 19th 2009 6:08PM A long time ago, I learned a lot of stuff on WI about hunters. Jumpshot, Kiting, Chain Trapping, and all skills needed, back then, to avoid the easily obtained title of Huntard.
This, however, was a long time ago. And this site used to provide a really impressive amount of good quality written material on our class, back then.
I'd never jump on the troll train, or try to bash an article aimed at people starting a hunter, but here we don't have any of these. First, I can see no trolling going on - most of the comments were on remarkable mistakes made by the author, clarifying several aspects of what is involved in playing a hunter and, I dare to say, far better than the OP could intend to do. As many of the other comments pointed out, there's a lot of information here that doesn't relate to the low level hunter, and the whole previous post (about 'useful' racials) doesn't help, either.
And second: Eddie, seriously, what's the point here? I don't wish to sound like the sort of guy who keeps saying 'lol if ur not doing heroics ur a failure', but isn't 1-9 like too much? How long does that level range last, in game? 3 hours? I'm sorry to say this, but - with all due respect - linking wowwiki doesn't hurt. If you want the starting hunter to read second hand material, at least link them to the right sources.
Believe me, I'm REALLY sorry to say this. But the last couple of articles are way below average for this column (even if we consider the post-BRK era).
Jul 16th 2009 5:18PM I used a crab for soloing/farming for a while, and it proved to be an interesting choice for MM hunters. As we'll grab aggro after the first couple of crits anyway, its special ability helped keep the mob in place for a few seconds, before we could finish it off.
For dungeon soloing, however (bosses and all), turtles would surely do better.
Jul 12th 2009 6:51PM I couldn't agree more to the general idea of the topic and to most of the comments, but let's develop this idea a little bit further. Nothing sounds more like defeat than having Garrosh, Varian and/or Tirion not only killed - but corrupted by the Lich King.
Then we could have something else to add to the Ashbringer storyline, with it returning to Darion (who leads his Ebon Blade buddies in a final and desperate attack), as well as some sort of "resolution" of the Horde-Alliance hostilities and the redemption of Arthas' role as the plotting villain.
Nov 20th 2008 8:47PM My question is about Orbaz Bloodbane - the guy that gives us some quests in the DK starting area and then runs away when Darion is owned by good old Tirion. Does he appear later, in game? Saw he is somewhere in Icecrown, but would like to know more about his role and if we get to do anything about him in the future

Oct 5th 2007 6:41PM @15 and @27 and other comments on the Blood Elves / Forsaken axis: let´s not forget that Sylvanas, the forsaken banshee queen, WAS a high elf before (un)death. Not just a mere salt-of-the-earth-no-quest-mark-above-head-commoner blood elf, but a hero to the people of Silvermoon (and master to most of their rangers, including Lorthemar Theron - staple of blood elf army before blood knights). So, we actually have the "leaders" of both factions as longtime friends.
If one does play as blood elf, however (and I did that with some chars just because I couldnt swallow this idea of "we´ve been with the alliance since the second game in the series and noooow, cause our king´s gone mad and we need mana to be happy, we´re switching") and do most of the Tranquillien quest chains, you´ll see how their alliance is forming there. And how they have something to hate even more than Alliance or anything: Arthas.
Just my 2 cents, anyway.
