Nov 22nd 2006 8:23PM @3, the yellow "analogue" stick on the GC acts as a slightly fiddly version of the C-buttons, simply push it in the direction of the C-button you require. not sure about the classic controller or wiimote :) hth.
Nov 18th 2006 2:35PM srsly? i would play my favourite consoles even if they were made of pink cardboard, had a holographic image of goatse printed on the front, and to play the game you wedged the CD in his gaping anus. for crying out loud, folks, if you're criticising a console based on the fact it's aesthetically or ergonomically poor you're missing the point somewhat.
Oct 31st 2006 1:33PM i'm playing through doom 3 on xbox just now and finding it pretty terrifying at times, albeit in fairly obvious ways. scariest for me though is silent hill 4 - the game itself didn't get much love from anyone, myself included, but when you've finished reading danielewski's "house of leaves" on the same day as you start playing SH4, the whole game takes on a different level of fucked-up-ness. the soundtrack helped, i have it on mp3 and it scares me when i accidentally listen to it late at night :(
Sep 20th 2006 8:47PM Those weird leopard things in Dun Morogh that have seemingly the biggest aggro range of any mob in the ENTIRE GAME yet populate a noob zone :( I swear they're worse than Murlocs. Recently I tried to powerlevel a lvl 50ish rogue through Alchemy by farming Dun Morogh for Silverleaf/PB and found myself spending as much time oneshotting the damned cats as I did picking herbs.
Sep 6th 2006 10:22PM DMC is my favourite game series ever, ahead of... Final Fantasy, Warcraft, Pro Evo, all the other games I've spent literally years of my life playing. DMC is my favourite.
DMC without Dante as the lead character... won't be my favourite game series anymore. Ugh ugh ugh. The factor that decides whether I buy a PS3 is whether or not DMC4 is any good.
Jun 28th 2006 1:26PM Quel'Thalas is still up but lagging insanely =( Normally one of the more reliable servers
Jun 23rd 2006 4:46PM I don't want to seem like the sort of guy who posts on Joystiq comments like "OMG THIS IS ANCIENT" or whatever, but this sort of thing has happened basically since the Championship Manager series started 10+ years ago. Every so often a story hits the media about an everyman who applied for a top English job using the game as the basis for his CV - it's by no means the first time. However Gibson (who already has the reputation of more-or-less the best chairman in England) wrote the best rejection letter I've seen, so this qualifies as news! Gratz, Joystiq!
Apr 21st 2006 2:34PM I've played for nearly six months and only on Wednesday did I really feel I'd "achieved" anything. Serial alter, so I got my first character to 40, got my pony, and did a full Uldaman run with my guild, all within six hours of each other. Was absolutely fantastic fun. Ok, so Uldaman isn't quite, like, AQ or anything, but still. By far the hardest thing I've done so far, so I enjoyed it.
Mar 31st 2006 7:31PM I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN, 100%, that the people who fix the servers are the people who make these jokes. Uh-huh, it's a definite fact. Also, I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that these screenshots were made today at the expense of server maintenance. There's no way they've been in the pipeline for a while, no way at all. Finally, I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that they were not an attempt to inject a bit of fun into a forum filled with 80% trolling, 5% blue posts and 15% of pure bitching about the blue posts.
Mar 30th 2006 8:23AM I'm finding Backstab a lot harder to hit, the game seems fussier about exactly what "behind your target" means. A few times just now in STV I was standing on the damn tiger's tail and the game still wanted me to be BEHIND my target. However when it hits it seems to crit more often. I may well be imagining both of these changes, though.
Haven't seen any weather effects yet (only played 1.10 for about two hours though so not that big a deal) but my guildies have - "cool, it's raining like LANCASHIRE in un'goro", heh
new flightplans = super awesome
