Apr 27th 2008 10:06PM Make this game 20$ and put it on Steam and it'll sell like hotcakes just for the novelty.

You're not a very bright one are you?
People play games for different reasons. You play to have fun. My friend plays to unlock everything. I play to win. You have to accept that. There is no 'right' way to play a game, regardless if it's a party game or not.
Also, as many random elements as possible should be removed from tournament play. Tournaments are where player skill gets to shine. However, since smash is a party game, it's replete with random elements (and that includes everything from tripping to items to stage design) to give everyone a sense of excitement. Go ahead and play with items in your living room, but they should not be activated at a tournament. The best person should win, not the luckiest.
And thirdly, SSBB is a deliberate move AWAY from competitiveness, especially with tripping (and no way to turn that off) :( The game has slowed down to the point where combos are easily avoided and advanced techniques are incredibly scarce (or useless). SSBB is nowhere near as deep as SSBM was, so don't complain about Nintendo catering to e-sport enthusiasts. IMO, SSBB's competitiveness is a victim of SSBM's depth.
Apr 9th 2008 2:02AM I sure hope Montreal brings the cup home this year, it's long overdue. Best offense in the league (most goals for) and no one in the top 10 goal-scorers means it's a team effort, not a one-man show.
However, the Red Wings (and Sharks) are a little scary. While I think Montreal can make it to the finals, I'm not so sure about its chances against a top tier West team. Regardless, go Habs go!
This'll be a fun way to start summer :)
Apr 6th 2008 9:49PM Insightful and well written. Stuff like this should be required reading for new guilds.
A+ and keep up the good work
Mar 27th 2008 1:07PM Leeching off other provinces? I love hearing ignorant comments from anglophone Canadians who have no idea what Quebec is really about.
Might I remind you that we have the second largest population and the second highest GDP among Canadian provinces (according to statscan). If that doesn't contribute to the health of the Canadian economy, I don't know what does >_>
Mar 10th 2008 1:19PM To say the smash brothers series is not as deep or "doesn't offer as much" as other fighters is simply uninformed opinion.
With a little research, I think you would see that not only does SSBM have a thriving competitive community in Japan as well as in the US, but there are many advanced techniques that are (in my opinion) more difficult to master than things like kara-throwing and parrying in SF3: 3rd strike. Being good (like, competition-level good) at Smash Brothers takes a tremendous amount of skill, just like in any other fighter
But you can check out smashboards.com for yourselves if you don't believe me. Or look up DBR videos on Youtube. Shined Blind is my favorite.
Feb 13th 2008 11:58PM There seems to be alot of hate against this video. I personally thought it's one of the best I've seen.
Feb 12th 2008 12:00AM This game looks really cool... but is it fun? I really want it to be but after watching a video I'm not convinced. If anyone could enlighten me I'd really appreciate it
Feb 9th 2008 9:08PM first?
