Blizzard -- Holiday support hours {WoW}

Dec 21st 2006 7:44PM Funny how they break the in-game mail system* with a prime time "critical hotfix" realm restart, then take off on vacation. Hilarious, I tells you.

* Last night, after the restart, we couldn't send mail to anyone who hadn't already logged in once. We'd get either a "too many recipients" or "target not friendly" error.

Around Azeroth extra: Patch day woes {WoW}

Dec 6th 2006 3:01PM Wile E. Coyote ftw.

All the expansion news that's fit to print {WoW}

Dec 5th 2006 7:31PM That's a Draenei female. She looks very similar to a shaman I've been testing, actually (horn shape and skin/hair color).

WoW Moviewatch: Maiev Shadowsong lives! {WoW}

Dec 3rd 2006 8:27PM Worse-than-amateur audio production for that which calls itself WoW Radio. C'mon guys, call up a compressor and then a brick wall limiter. Then you won't have to use that phony pitch shifter to get a 'radio' voice because you'll already have it. Not hard.

Curse Gaming site revamp {WoW}

Dec 3rd 2006 1:22PM Oh my gosh, this is exceedingly bad. I had been using the Favorites function to save the WoW add-ons I use, and to easily keep track of which were updated. Now the favorites page shows nothing but a 'Last Update' date, and no version number. Even worse, this date seems to also include any comments left on the add-on's page, not a new version of the add-on itself. To find that, you now have to scroll way down the add-on page. I can't believe the same people who had made something so easily useful could turn around and spew this out.

I'm glad I've bookmarked the home sites of my add-ons as well, because there seems to be no reason to visit Curse at this point (especially since they stopped listing certain ones like MonkeyQuest for some reason). Ugh. Very disappointing.

Queues rearing their ugly head more frequently? {WoW}

Nov 12th 2006 11:03PM I just sat through a queue of 230 on Kilrogg. Our Eastern Kingdoms have also been crashing several times each evening during prime time, if that's related. Neither is a good thing.

WoW Moviewatch: Learn to fly {WoW}

Nov 12th 2006 9:15PM If you are going to go to the trouble of recording yourself, editing it, putting it over the bestsongevar, presenting it to the general public, and building up anticipation, try to have an ending.

WoW Moviewatch: Level 10 Warsong Gulch [Update] {WoW}

Oct 27th 2006 8:04PM I watched the video. Why is this blog entry anti-Mac? I guess I missed something, but I don't want to watch that soup again.

IDG unveiles Macworld 07 event highlights including Kevin Smith, David Pogue {TUAW.com}

Oct 20th 2006 11:58AM They seem to know exactly when Kevin Smith will appear (01/09/2007, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM), but they don't give a clue where he'll be. Any info? Main Apple stage? One of the dozens of conference rooms?

Huge addon changes in the Burning Crusade {WoW}

Oct 7th 2006 7:01PM Hmmm.. What about something like SpellScaler? It's the only mod I use like this, so far. It lets me (60) cast Mark of the Wild on a level 37 friend without having to open my spellbook or keep 5 different versions of it in a hotbar. It's not really choosing the spell for me, but it is choosing the appropriate level (could seem the same, as far as the game knows). A friend wrote a macro/script for his druid to do the same. I wonder if they will break that functionality as well?
