Jan 24th 2008 11:05AM Given that the new Imp Crusader had the bonus spell damage rolled into the spell, and given that few of our tanking threat spells crit....I'm curious as to your logic that ImpCrusader is better as a tanking talent, given that the 1hws is applied before RF, and the HS bonuses from Imp HS.
Jan 23rd 2008 8:48PM I'm well aware of the uses for BoP. At the same time, I'm well aware of the tanking requirements for deep raiding. The number of circumstances in which you would need a three min cooldown on BoP are much, much less frequent then you would need the extra mitigation. And in any other raid situation you will not be the only Paladin there. There is no justification for a tanking build to take a primarily PvP talent in a tree that is stuffed full of things they absolutely have to have.
Jan 23rd 2008 2:39PM AD really shines in Five mans and Heroics and you won't really need the extra threat from Crusade.
Jan 23rd 2008 11:05AM You aren't reading the tooltip correctly. It's 5% damage increase while having a one hander equipped. It applies to all abilities.

But you shouldn't need to be BoPing people. And BoPing them doesn't make your life as a tank easier, all it's going to do is condemn the healer next to them to death and cause the mob to run in a random direction. If the mob runs off and you can't hold it then the distance factor in aggro is going to cause it to bounce around in the raid, not come back to you.
I'm curious to your math on Vindication. Do you have some argument for it other then "I like it"?

There is a very strong reason to leave anticipation in place in that build that you've failed to take into account. Resist Fights. While they aren't legion, you will run into a few resist fights like Hydross where having that extra defense is a godsend. And 2.5% avoidance is nothing to sneeze at either.
Guardian's Favor is a particularly poor choice in talent points. While BoP doesn't drop aggro, it will place the target in a "Do Not Hit" list if you will. That sounds wonderful for a tank, but given mob speed, when you BoP someone, you're more likely to cause the target to turn to someone else in the raid rather then yourself. Threat has a distance factor, and being further away places you at a disadvantage in regaining your threat lead. If taunt doesn't work then BoPing can make the situation worse.
Vindication unfortunately really doesn't play to our strengths at all. It has no use on raid bosses and is of insignificant use in AoE tanking situations. With single target trash, you'd see a faster kill if your points were spent in Imp Seal of the Crusader. The small amount of incoming damage that you're preventing shouldn't be a factor if you live or die on trash, and the 2.5% avoidance would have probley been more effective at reducing the damage you take.

Given the inconsistency of the comments and the general lack of clue they show, I'll stay with my spec. Just because alot of people say something doesn't make them right.

I'm not trying to do a role as an off-spec. I'm trying to do the role that I'm specced for. If I join a five man I'm there to tank. I'm specced prot. What I am complaining about is jack-asses who are going to go around commenting on specs they know jack about.
