Enter... Entropius! {WoW}

Feb 26th 2008 4:09AM Good guy turns bad is a consistent theme in WoW lore (as is it in traditional myth and religions - Lucifer etc), Sargeras being the most obvious example, and so it is only logical if the previously all-good Naaru gets a renegade bad guy in the shape of M'uru. While we don't know the M'uru fight yet, it actually wouldn't surprise me if M'uru gets away in his Entropius form to come back an haunt us in WotLK or even later, as WoW needs a supply of new bad guys with some kind of footing on lore (even if it is recently developed lore, compared to Illidan). M'uru/Entropius would be an excellent end game boss.

Know Your Lore: The story of the Burning Crusade {WoW}

Feb 24th 2008 6:06PM Maybe Kazzak was a noob, yes.

On the other hand, you could argue that he successfully fooled the Azerothians into helping his schemes, but luring us to Outland: He did lure the Azerothians to go to Ouland, and once there we did kill Illidan, the main obstacle for the Burning Legion in Outland.

Also, by smashing Kael'thas in Tempest Keep, and as Kael'thas is now summoning Kil'Jaeden to Azeroth, the Burning Legion has in this way too come closer to another goal.

So Kazzak and the rest of the legion does indeed look like the benefactor of all of the Azerothians activities in Outland.

Balancing crowd control {WoW}

Feb 19th 2008 8:21AM Best. Post. Ever.

Long live the rough edges and infinite choices and differences.

A little more patch 2.4 love for casters {WoW}

Feb 1st 2008 7:18PM "II'd hardly call this "love." It's more like a slap in the face, especially when Mage DPS is getting the huge buff it's being given, via the Spell Haste tweak."

Excuse me!?

You have got it all wrong sir.

mages are not the main ones benefiting from spell haste starting to affect GC - Warlocks more so, at least in PvE, where mages rely on spells (fireball and frostbolt) that already benefited from haste, as the spells are longer than 1.5 seconds, and as you may be aware, mages hardly cast any instant spell, as opposed to warlocks.

Thus this is a great buff for classes with quick and instant spells, but not so much for classes, such as mages, with slow spells.

In fact, this change will just reinforce the current in
mbalance in favour of debuffing/insta-casting classes that benefit from the constantly-on-the-move nature of most high-end raid encounters.

Chinese television reuses Azerothian maps {WoW}

Jan 22nd 2008 5:28PM No, Duskwood, not Wetlands for Usama.

Surely someone else sees the connection between Mor'Ladim and Bin'Ladin? I'd say a dedicated air strike on Raven Hill Cemetary would do the trick.

Fixing battlemaster blocking {WoW}

Jan 21st 2008 11:11PM Maybe smaller orc shoulders wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Why there won't be a flood of death knights {WoW}

Jan 12th 2008 2:42PM Looking forward to seeing nekkid Deathknights dancing on the fountain in Stormwind...

...not!...

Heading for greener pastures in 2008? {WoW}

Jan 10th 2008 9:07AM I will positively NOT switch from WOW.

I might stop playing and take up golf or motorcycling or standup comedy, who knows, but see not myself dropping WOW to play some other MMO.

Breakfast Topic: How is your PvP Battlegroup doing? {WoW}

Jan 10th 2008 8:30AM EU-Vindication. Horde wins (or rather, alliance lose) something like 98% of AV. Very often alliance get 0 bonus honor and are extremely demoralized and most have stopped even bothering.

I think this was an unforeseen effect of the 2.3 changes to AV, and very unfortunate: It has effectively become "winner takes it all" in AV, which is making AV broken, with the winner side being more or less permanent. The losing faction stops queueing and the winning side gets horrendous queues.

The bonus honor changes were good, in principle, as they made defense pay off, but something needs to be done about how entire battlegrouops can tilt to one side this much. Some kind of honor that the losing side can win without taking away any honor from the winning side, something like that to make the people of the "losing side" with anything more than half a brain return.

Blizzard's stubborn requirements on the summoning stones {WoW}

Dec 6th 2007 5:22AM " I pay my $15 a month. I should be able to play the game however I'd like"

That is the dumbest comment I have seen from WI for a while. Bloody NO! Every possible style of playing is not something that should be okay'd by Blizzard! It is Blizzard's job to protect the game experience for everyone and to steer people away from playing styles that are detrimental to the overall game experience.

If widespread corpsecamping is considered undesirable. Blizzard, discourage it please, regardless that the corpsecampers pay $15 a month.

If AFK'ing in the BG is bad for the game ($15 or not), Blizzard please discourage it!

If goldbuying is bad for the game, it should be prevented, even though the goldbuyers do pay 15 bucks a month.

I totally lost respect for Mike Schramm after this post.
