Aug 12th 2010 2:30PM I play in a RP guild that currently requires it's members to get the Blood Knight tabard on their Paladins. Are the level 60 Paladin (and I suppose Warlock as well) mount quests still exist in Cataclysm, or have they been removed?
May 28th 2010 11:04AM On US Nathrezim, we used to be a fairly balanced realm in BC and very early Wrath, but then free transfers were opened up off of our server, and it turns out a massive chunk of the Alliance population left. Not only did they leave, but all the guilds that jumped ship were the only serious progression raiding guilds on the Alliance side.
Since then Horde has dominated the server, and the last I saw there was 1 Alliance for every 20-ish Horde. I rarely hear anything anymore about Alliance PvE progression as it's been the Horde guilds that have been getting all the server firsts lately. The Alliance rarely won Wintergrasp, and even now they really only win their automatic "I Win Button" that Blizz gives them if Horde has controlled WG for several hours.
I hear every day in trade chat of Alliance that just faction changed to Horde just to make their playing lives easier. I wouldn't be surprised if sometime Blizz doesn't open free Alliance transfers to our realm.
May 11th 2010 4:41PM This would be a big help, so entering! :D
Apr 28th 2010 11:07AM Definitely shopped. Horde never wins Battlegrounds.
Mar 3rd 2010 8:24AM Phasing system in Icecrown. I have an alt that has several group quests she can't get done because it's phased. All my guildies have done it already so they are phased out - and not enough people are leveling anymore to get random people in the zone to do it. Plus phasing has also caused issues outside of the ICC raid. If I need to summon someone in, I need to go to the 5-man stone to summon because I often find myself phased out at the raid stone with no one able to help me summon.
Feb 8th 2010 9:00AM I play a dwarf hunter on a second account. When I get busy with something on my main, I'll park my dwarf hunter in Dalaran for people looking for the achievement. Most of the race/class combo achievement items are harmless so I don't mind people tossing them on me. The turkey one was the only I really found annoying to date.
Also, specific gnome classes seem to be hard to find for me on my server. Maybe because they're so small.
Jan 14th 2010 8:10AM I've seen Omen kited to Orgrimmar on my server a few times during the Lunar Festival.
Dec 23rd 2009 10:51AM I agree with this article and also have a tale of 2 Oculus runs to tell.
One day I got Oculus on my hunter. He's got his full T9 set as well as ToC 25 weapons, so he's fairly well geared. I got into an Oculus group with a good tank and good healer, however the DPS was very sub-par. I noticed I was out-putting between 3.2 and 3.8k DPS. We had a warlock doing 600 DPS and a rogue doing 700-900 DPS. The warlock admitted they had never been past the 2nd boss in the dungeon. However despite the low DPS output, the players didn't make stupid mistakes, they were polite, and the mobs went down at a good pace. I explained the last 2 boss fights to the warlock and she followed the strategy well. We ended the run with no deaths and some nice upgrades for the warlock.
Two days later, I get into another Oculus group. This time the DPS were all pulling over 2.5k each. The Paladin tank never used consecrate so our healer died twice due to ranged-whelp aggro. Our Death Knight took every route possible to aggro as many drakes as he could. Our rogue kept pulling mobs to the group and then vanishing, leaving the rest of us to die. I got fed up and left the group after they aggro'd a ton of drakes which was completely unavoidable, dismounted on a platform, and then did nothing to DPS/heal/aggro them and caused a massive wipe.
Higher DPS/gearscore does not make for better players. I would have been more then happy to group with the lower DPS players who were respectful and knew what they were doing, then having to group with a bunch of higher DPS who were rude, didn't play their classes properly, and really needed a lot of common sense.
Nov 16th 2009 1:54PM They still exist. However since they can be killed with 4 or less players now, their lifespan probably isn't very long. A lot of outdoor raid bosses are hard to find now that they can be killed quicker. I haven't seen Doom Lord Kazzak or Doomwalker in ages because they're all killed soon after they respawn.
