Mar 10th 2008 5:56PM My poor Undead alt, while still in her living human form, tripped over a Gnome and fell into a forge.
Mar 10th 2008 5:51PM PvP is still somewhat intimidating for me. My main is a lvl 70 fire mage, and while she can kick PvE butt like nobody's business, PvP is a whole 'nother ball of wax. With PvE, the mobs are fairly predictable and easy to counter. But with PvP, you're up against other real people, and you can't always know what they're going to do, and how to counteract quickly. I'm slowly trying to get over my PvPhobia by hanging out in highly raided areas, such as Xroads, to at least get a feel for it and work on my reflexes, which aren't exactly lightening fast atm. Once I get fairly comfortable with that (and learn how not to die so fast), then I do want to hit the arenas and start working toward getting some nice epics.
Mar 2nd 2008 7:28PM I'm gonna go with... 03/25/08.
Come on March 25th! Momma needs a new WoW time card!
Feb 22nd 2008 8:48AM My husband and I both always look forward to the next installment of The Guild. We think it's brilliant!
Oh - and Felicia - you were my favorite Slayerette! =)
Feb 16th 2008 9:50AM Best. Blog. EVER! These things are exactly what I deal with on a regular basis as well. Thank you for addressing these issues. For those of you who are guilty of these annoyances, PLEASE realize that it is indeed you who are being addressed. ; )
Jan 22nd 2008 5:31PM It was a little over a year ago for me. I played Guild Wars for a few years, convinced that it was perfectly good, and that I didn't need to be playing a game that required a monthly fee. I finally succumbed to the immense peer pressure I was constantly receiving from other gamer friends - "Just do the 10-day trial and see what you think - you have nothing to lose." (I wonder how many others have heard that same innocuous-sounding pitch from your friends, falling into their "join us... be *one of us*" trap? A lot, I'm willing to bet!). Anyway, I agreed to try it, with the intention of proving to them (and myself) that it wasn't worth 15 bucks a month to play, and that GW was perfectly fine for me. ... I had the BC expansion pre-ordered before my free trial time was up. I still say that GW is a good "starter" MMO - learn the basics, see if you like the MMO atmosphere with minimal investment, etc. But since the very first day I played WoW, I haven't ever gone back. So, yeah... I'd say it took me about 4 days to get completely hooked.
Jan 22nd 2008 5:12PM I've been waiting patiently for the next HoG installment as well. It's an absolutely *brilliant* comic!
Jan 8th 2008 8:18PM Congratulations, Mr. Slouken - it's a gnome!
