Jun 9th 2008 3:57PM I really don't see how the idea in the linked post would take away from developing new end game content. In fact, the point was that it would be easy for the devs to do so they can get right back to making more level 80 content.
It seems that all the nay-sayers of this type of idea really can't come up with a valid reason why it shouldn't be done.
Jun 9th 2008 2:42PM I hope they implement this:
Jun 2nd 2008 8:24AM Paladin AoE FTW!
Easy soloing with the right build. Just grab a sword and board, shield spike and start pulling 4-6 mobs at a time. Your dungeon runs will go faster as well.
May 21st 2008 12:11PM Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with people who want to keep the system as is. They pay their $15 a month too and should be able to play the way they want. Also I and just about every other player that suggests modifying the system knows that there's the PvE server option. What we're voicing is our desire to have a more middle of the road PvP server. One where ganking is shunned as much as possible and more evenly matched PvP is encouraged. I'd also advocate free for all servers where anyone can kill anyone regardless of zone or faction. I'm sure there'd be a number of players interested in that type of server too.
The bottom line is that many are looking for more options.
May 21st 2008 11:33AM The only thing that they SHOULD make more "hardcore" is the penalty for ganking targets that have no means of fighting back. Losing reputation with your own faction was at one point considered (it's in the game manual anyway) but, for whatever reason, this deterrent was removed. Bring this back and you'd have less ganking. On the flip side, greater rewards for taking on someone who's an even match for you would encourage what I consider "real PVP"
May 13th 2008 5:00PM You know what kills me about the comments on this is that there's no room in most people's minds for a middle ground. Most of the comments that follow either want the offenders burned at the stake or think that people like myself are trying to bring about the reign of Big Brother. Am I offended by the name? Yeah, a bit. Do I want the perpetrators to be perma-banned from the game and their computers confiscated. No.
I understand that for the most part names like this are made just to get a rise out of people. I just really don't care to see stuff like this in the game I pay $15 a month for. Also, since it's against Blizzard's naming policy, I feel perfectly justified in reporting it. If I wanted political or social commentary, there's a slew of websites out there that cater to that need.
May 13th 2008 3:18PM The addon is called name violation
May 13th 2008 3:04PM Heh. Ironically I just reported someone with the name Rosaparks and the guild name "stole my bus seat" just a few days ago.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this offensive.
May 6th 2008 10:57AM Silly Wowinsider. It's been my experience that Blizz has never released a major patch in the middle of a holiday event. The exception being emergency patches to fix bugs with the holiday (Hello Brewfest!) You can bet that the patch won't be released until after Children's week.
Apr 29th 2008 6:17PM Neat math! So if I open 30 supplies I have an approx 96% chance to get one?
