The Light and How to Swing It: Retribution in the Firelands, part 3 {WoW}

Oct 13th 2011 7:54AM Taking off the seed with Divine Shield on Heroic is usually impossible with the tactic my guild uses due to how we deal with the orbs. Gotta blow that HoP on yourself.

Also, Sulfuras normal is heavily devalued as a goal. The Shannox hc axe is superior to it and is far easier to obtain than a Sulfuras after the last round of nerfs.

WoW Archivist: The changing raid design of Naxxramas, page 2 {WoW}

Sep 20th 2011 9:06PM The problem with Wrath's Naxx wasn't the downsizing of the raid. As pointed out in the article, they simply folded neccessary class abilities into the encounter when they knew fielding a class of that many was simply unfeasable with 10 or 25 players.

What did go wrong with Naxx was the tuning of it. Bosses were simply not lethal enough.

Patch 4.2 hotfixes for Sept. 14 {WoW}

Sep 15th 2011 6:57AM What is so bloody hard about the robot.

It's so simple, mash 1 until you have enough energy for a charge, then charge it. Repeat ad infinitum. I liked that the enrage would produce more slags than the robot could cope with, it added an actual soft enrage to the fight and was one of the few 5 man heroic bosses that require the dps to pull their socks up or wipe.

WTB an actual Heroic difficulty, not this rubbish.

The Overachiever: You can't get there from here {WoW}

Aug 19th 2011 9:53PM There are quite a few players crudely nicknamed "Scrub Lords" because they attained their title/mount during a server bug during Wrath of the Lich King that reset the AQ gate status.

This explains a Death Knight having one.

Breakfast Topic: How do you prefer to access "hard modes"? {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2011 10:47PM I don't get the logic behind the "Average player will be confused how to trigger the hardmodes"

1) Average players are probably not good enough to do hard modes.

2) By the time Average players are geared up and ready to start attempting them, the Internet is full of guides on every detail of the fight, including how to trigger the hard mode.

3) Dungeon Journal will probably give it away.

So yeah, I don't buy the explaination. I think Blizzard just got lazy.

New Blizzard support site lets you track, edit, and update your GM tickets {WoW}

May 26th 2011 6:30PM And we'll inevitably still be ignored about that guildless level 80 with max mining and herbalism that's been in Twilight Highlands to last 4 days straight.

Gold Capped: Competition in tailoring {WoW}

Apr 14th 2011 5:32PM Use a Goblin alt to buy the vendor materials needed for things like Vial of the Sands and the chopper.

Breakfast Topic: Design your fantasy vanity loot {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2011 9:18AM 25 man Giant Death Robot Guild Mount.

That is all.

The Lawbringer: Fighting the gold fight -- how the strategy must change {WoW}

Mar 19th 2011 10:21PM While this suggestion is brilliant, as any method to make Authenticators mandatory is, I fear it won't fully kill gold selling. Account hacked-based gold selling maybe, but not gold selling. They will simply find another way.

I firmly suspect there would be a big return of farmbots. Powerlevelling services would be uneffected unless Blizzard starts proactively looking at accounts that suddenly jump their I.P. Address to China. Certain places in the game right now are DEAD. I mean full on, 100% dead. You will not find players in these areas.

Case in point, the crypts outside Karazhan where you kill mobs as part of the old attunement quest. In a given month, maybe one person will go inside them. Because they got lost. These places can be relentlessly farmed by bots for gold from drops.

A way of combating this is to detect accounts that have been logged on for extensive periods at a time and obliterating drops from mobs until the account has been logged off for a certain period, with some kind of authentication process in case it actually is some nutter whose played 16 hours straight, as is the case on launch day usually.

Breakfast Topic: The most memorable raid interruption {WoW}

Mar 18th 2011 10:51PM I had a similar one in a Botanica run back in Burning Crusade:

"brb, cat giving birth"

Explained shortly afterward that her cat was in a box next to her desk, taking a rather long time to do nature wonderful, messy miracle.
