I can't help to think this is a slight over reaction.
So last major patch, elemental shammies lost some DPS. Well due to the changes to Water sheild and Lightning overload you got a good buffing in the Mana Regen and Threat stakes did you not?
Can't use an elemental shammy in PVP anymore because of the set changes? Not every talent tree for every other class works either.
Elemental Shammies are in the same position as Shadow Priests. Your DPS might not be the best but what you lack in damage you make up in utility. If your raid leaders can't see that, more fool them
Jan 25th 2008 10:21AM I would like to think that they are holding back Key information however doubt there are many more key features.
One thing that may happen is another shift in class boundaries. Before TBC there was a hybrid role in groups, where as now all the hybrids fill their chosen role at the same level as everyone else choosing that role eg All tanks are equally good at tanking.
There was also a shift in gameplay style, some for the better and some for the worse. Gone were the long instances and in came the winged instance hubs. As much as i like the long sprawling instances like BRD for the atmosphere they create its nice that you can get runs like Mech done in an hour.
I think these things that effect the day to day playing of the game effect you far more than a new battleground and are far more exciting.
Jan 18th 2008 4:06AM Nice to see that someone also shares my thinking. I just don't see why being in a bigger group than 5 people somehow makes you more deserving of rewards.
Hopefully when everything starts over with the next expansion they can readjust the balance between effort and rewards. Arena i feel at least should have been a tiered system like the old honor system, so anyone can get rewards but only those who put the real effort in can get the rewards equal to the current raid gear.
Jan 13th 2008 8:10AM Why Limit yourself to just one. I have a Priest for Healing, Paladin for Tanking and a Hunter, Mage & Rogue for DPS.
Not only does it allow you to fill any role it also gives you a nice rounded view of the game.
Dec 26th 2007 6:47PM I think many hunters feel the same about warlock pets, the grass is always greener it seems.
Their wasn't much on other side of the portal for Hunters either, 4 new pet types and only two of them (warp stalker & ravenger) due to the others either not having racial abilities or having caster stats.(http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/html/articles/stats_casters.shtml)
I do agree with all your other statements though :)
Nov 15th 2007 9:10AM ...i hadn't heard about not being able to double trap anymore, that really is a slap in the face. Its not like it is even easy to do without readiness, it requires lots of forward planning.
Anyway back to topic, if they do keep this change to FD it would be nice if they adjusted the low mana regain on viper a bit to make up for it.
Nov 8th 2007 4:39AM Be careful what you wish for. Iceblock might end up being the next fearward. You can have it but t a price
Oct 27th 2007 3:48AM I'm very open about this. If the Warrior says he can take i will invite him in.
Speccing Prot doesn't automatically make you a good tank. As long as the Tank is confident in his abilities that is fine with me. Just as I wouldn't go into a instance undergeared as a healer and risk being the cause of wipes, any Warrior who doesn't feel confident about his tanking would just say "no i can't tank, any DPS spaces left?"
At least i hope they would
Oct 21st 2007 5:38AM I think it is worth point out that as others have said it tracks over small area and doesn't mark the main map like it would if you asked an NPC.
For Example i was in IF with my mage yesterday and flicked it on to Reagent Vendors. You more or less have to standing outside the shop before it appears on the minimap.
It isn't noted here but they have also changed the mouse cursor for when you mouse over an NPC. For example if you mouse over someone who can repair it will change to an anvil symbol.
