Patch 3.3.5 known issues {WoW}

Jun 22nd 2010 6:09PM "Mage Summon Water Elemental does not fully function as a permanent pet when glyphed with Glyph of Eternal Water."

Oh my god, this.

Squirtle despawns while teleporting, hearthing, or zoning into or out of a dungeon. It's ridiculously annoying. Also irksome is how it DOESN'T despawn when you mount. It looks cool for purposes (my BM hunter is begging for a screenshot of her with a Spirit Beast while mounted on a Celestial Steed), but for the most part, causes problems when flying, as it will remain on the ground, follow you, and aggro anything that gets in the way.

I'll happily wait the extra hours of downtime for this to be fixed, though I don't think it will be solved today.

Call for submissions: Qualities of an outstanding raid leader {WoW}

Jun 11th 2010 11:51AM An outstanding raid leader assigns odd goups left, even groups right. That means 1, 3, 5, 7 left, 2, 4, 6, 8 right. He assigns 7 and 8 to whelp groups. He tells his raid to listen the f- up, to dps very very slowly. When he means slow, he means f'ing slow. He takes -50 dkp from people who get aggro because they did not know what the f- to do. He warns about the f'ing tail, and that if anyone in his raid gets kicked into the whelps, they lose 50 dkp again for not being where the f- they were supposed to be.

An outstanding raid leader knows there is no aggro reset. He knows after 2 sunders, you can do damage to it. He tells the raid to nuke it, DoT it, to help the whelp groups, and when on phase 2, to nuke it as hard as possible, to get it down as fast as possible. He makes sure there's DoT's on it on every time, two rows, shadow word pain, warlock curses, rend, everything.

An outstanding raid leader doesn't see enough DoT's. Moar DoT's. At 40% he instructs his raid to stop DoT's. After that, to throw moar DoT's. Moar DoT's. Moar DoT's. Moar DoT's.

Old School WoW: Patch 0.7 {WoW}

Jun 8th 2010 6:49PM Mage Fireballs get a dot? as if they weren't already OP. I hope the raid dungeon at 60 puts them back in their place...

The Daily Quest: Mageness {WoW}

Jun 2nd 2010 2:30AM The link is very much appreciated! I encourage all Frost Mages to keep fighting the good fight! As for Euripedes, he's an awesome blogger, and it's so sad to see him move on from CQQ. He will surely be missed!

Blood Sport: Underdogs {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 7:50PM "...theme in Phantom Menace was awesome in the movie, I will agree..."

There, fixed. Blah.

Blood Sport: Underdogs {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 7:50PM Although the chanting in the ending fanfare theme in Phantom menace, I will agree with the author that it wasn't done properly in the video. Regardless, having done a Phantom Menace medley in high school band myself, that section was easily the most fun to play. Had I been playing WoW at the time, I am quite sure that I would have yelled "for gnomeregan!" as part of the "crowd cheers" instruction for that particular section.

Celestial Steed mount and Lil' XT pet to be sold on the Blizzard store {WoW}

Apr 15th 2010 10:32AM I will buy this just so I can ride it while listening to Always by Erasure on endless loop. (aka, the theme to robot unicorn attack)

Cataclysm Class Changes: Mage Analysis {WoW}

Apr 11th 2010 9:24PM And somehow, shamtards are exempt from that list? I already see that sort of thing happen in pugs when "that" shammy pops Hero at unexpected times, making the rest of the raid rage for not being able to time their cooldowns properly.
