StarCraft II Collector's Edition to include WoW vanity pet {WoW}

Apr 8th 2010 1:10PM I would have preferred a baneling pet. Those things are just too damned adorable when they roll around.

Arcane Brilliance: Macros for mages {WoW}

Mar 27th 2010 6:30PM That water elemental macro is an absolute godsend for people who want to maximize their dps as a Frost Mage. I would suggest against adding /petattack to the macro if you intend to use that macro as your primary nuke keybind. Repeatedly pressing it will make your squirtle interrupt his current cast and start casting again. You'll probably have an easier time of managing your pet's target by simply using the attack button on your pet's hotbar, which can be accomplished by pressing ctrl+1 by default, or whatever keybind you choose. Personally I like using the tilda (~) beside the 1, which I use for my Frostbolt, as it makes you and your pet start casting at the same time if you do a quick ~, 1 keypress combo.

A more detailed analysis on Lhivera's macro can be found on my blog, as it describes what purpose it fulfills, and how you can tailor your quartz addon around it to make the most of the macro.

Mar 26th 2010 10:45PM Frost Mages can apply the mortal strike effect by putting talent points into Permafrost. But most of the time, they won't, because their talent tree is too bloated to put any more points into it. *shakes fist at torment the weak*

Scattered Shots: Marksman 102: the armor pen years {WoW}

Mar 15th 2010 9:38AM The trinkets that the author is talking about are Needle Encrusted Scorpion, Mjolnir Runestone, and Grim Toll. Each trinket has a different proc enabler, and the amount of armor penetration granted differs between the three. For the most part, NES is the easiest to obtain, since it drops from Heroic FoS, while GT drops in Naxx-25, making it slighty harder to get due to the scarcity of Naxx pugs, and the higher likelihood of having multiple people roll against you for that trinket. Runestone drops from Ulduar Hardmode, Thorim if I recall, making it easily the most difficult trinket to get of the three.
