Your argument sounds like "I love GS because I'm geared from PUGs (5-, 10- and 25-man) and so I shouldn't have to worry about strat, or skill, or anything. I have the gear to prove it!" While I agree that, all players being equal, higher GS will be better, all players are not equal. When I see someone "LF20M ICC25, need [some ridiculous number]GS" I read it as "LF20 REALLY GEARED PEOPLE to carry me to Kingslayer"
And as for "Playing the game the way it was originally intended": Gearscore was not introduced until this expansion. Inspect wasn't even available (AFAIK) until after the first retail build. Addons in general weren't there at first, IIRC. So don't go on like you're better than us PUGgers because you have a raiding guild based on "It's how it was meant to be done" when you admit to using GS, and are in content that wasn't "intended" in the first place (Heroic mode anything).
Jun 24th 2010 6:11AM my post at http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=25552355664&sid=1&pageNo=4 (post #61, littlegizmo) is how I fixed it for me. Later in that thread people were saying it didn't work for them. It might help.
Dec 14th 2009 10:32AM Mobs are gonna stop being stupid? Well... Too Smart? YAY!
Nov 24th 2009 12:04PM I would love one
but I think I'm too late...
Nov 18th 2009 4:03PM Most likey (I'm not on ATM), the same thing that happens to any enchants/gems in Blacksmithing weapons that you upgrade -- *poof!*
Oct 14th 2009 5:23PM I want one!
Mar 4th 2009 5:52PM On hand 1: Downtime sucks, and feels excessive.
On hand 2: MS Servers (for example) do not require everyone who uses them to be using the exact same software release. They can be backwards compatible. If wow was backwards compatible, I can see a lot of exploits getting through.
Mar 4th 2009 5:42PM I have NOT gotten through all of the end game content. I have an 80, and a couple lower-levels on the way up. My first 2 characters went through 10-19, and at some point stepped into WSG, got totally creamed, and realized that it wasn't fun. I pretty much didn't go back.
Now, while it may not be fun for me to go into a low BG and get creamed, I realize that it also may not be fun to go into a low BG and wipe the floor with the other side. To this I propose rated battlegrounds. Why not have our Magic Number that Blizz generates for Arenas follow us to BGs as well, so we get matched appropriately? I think it would be a boon to everyone who DOESN'T want to be a total jerk.
Feb 26th 2009 12:48PM It's like.. Crack that confuses. You know you want more, but you're not sure why!
Feb 18th 2009 4:57PM Right, because you deserve to see more content than me. I mean, really. My personal situation of not being able to spend as long as I want to on new content (due to school / work / transit between school or work and home) isn't enough of a punishment on its own, I should be punished for it, too.
Or maybe, just maybe, you should look at the attitude you have and wonder why you're that eliteist.
Yes, 25-mans should be harder than 10-mans. And they are; it is harder to get 25 together than it is to get 10 together. Should we not be allowed to raid because we don't have an extra 15 people that want to raid? or should we only be allowed to do the kiddie-mode stuff? Pelt Arthas with 25 teddy bears, and he'll give you loot!
The POINT of Wrath's 10/25 man raiding setup was that i can face thwe same challenges that you can, even though I don't have as many people. Also, that if you want to make it harder, you can.
I look forward to Ulduar dropping, and people complaining that it is too hard; Especially looking forward to people QQing about how hard the vehicle combat is. That will make my day, because it's going to be some of the same people who QQ'd about Nax-25 being too easy.
