Sep 29th 2010 8:31AM I think LotRO's Deeds are mostly slayer deeds, which are all grindfest. That, or the "use this skill 2,500 times more" kind of deeds which I fail to see how you could like them.

To each his own I guess.

Way to go! XD Turbine must be pissed.

My CC is full until Sept. 20th so I can't quite renew my sub now. Hopefully the event will stay on until then.

Open beta brings changes for Final Fantasy XIV {Massively}

Aug 31st 2010 5:46AM GUYS! Breaking news!

I've just received an email from SE. Here's what it says.-

"In preparation for the official release of FINAL FANTASY XIV on September 30, 2010 and the early release on September 22, we will be starting an open beta test to help put the finishing touches on the game. We ask that all users who can participate in the open beta test apply from the following website.

1.Access the following URL.http://entry.ffxiv.com/
* The page will become accessible starting at 19:00 on Aug. 31, 2010.

2.Log in with your Square Enix account and have a registration code issued.
* Depending on the access status, we may temporarily suspend the issuance of registration code. If you cannot have registration code issued, we ask that you please wait a little while before trying again.

3.Register the registration code you received by e-mail on the Square Enix Account Management System.Click "Select Service" from "Services and Options" on the left menu. Select "FINAL FANTASY XIV" from the services available and then "Add a service account." Enter the registration code you've been issued and proceed to the end of registration.

The Square Enix Account Management System: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/

- Client Software Used in the Open Beta TestThe installer for the open beta test’s client software can be downloaded from the following website.http://entry.ffxiv.com/

*If you have already downloaded the client software for the closed beta test, there is no need to download the installer."

I'm just a Square-Enix free account holder. I don't have FFXI account or closed beta account of FFXIV or anything.

The account registration is closed due to maintenance right now. But once it comes up you should be able to register and try to get the beta key from this page.

Hope this help!

Final Fantasy XIV fatigue format fully put forward {Massively}

Aug 25th 2010 10:35PM So, another one bites the dust, I see.

I seriously wonder, though. Why so many games do this kind of self-destruction around launch time?

Allods with its cash shop.
Champions Online with its no respec, bait & switch lifetime sub, etc.
Startrek Online with its cash shop-exclusive races.

And now this?

Oh well.

ESRB unintentionally exposes email addresses of people who filed complaints over Blizzard's Real ID system [Updated] {WoW}

Jul 13th 2010 2:09AM So basically these people were concerned over a (now) non-issue and went abouve and beyond and sent emails to ESRB, only to get backfired by the ESRB itself?

Dirty deeds done dirt cheap.

GDC10: En Masse's Patrick Wyatt talks MMO security {Massively}

Apr 1st 2010 1:40AM A lot of NCsoft-related stuff, true. But if you look closer you'll also notice that Guild Wars, the game from the company he co-founded, has the highest amount of security issues up there. Incidently and speaking with hand-on experience, it's so true.

No wonder he left the company.
