Mar 8th 2010 9:49AM Hmm, in the article, Dawn seems to be saying that the 12 second cooldown on Rapture is per-person or only applies to the priest.

During LK 25 I'm spam-bubbling the raid for the majority of the fight (for the obvious reason mentioned in the article). Going back and looking at the logs for the last kill I participated in, I'm seeing ~65 Rapture procs returning mana on raid members. There might be some differently listed for rage/energy/runic power generation, but either way this seems to fairly conclusively show that while spam bubbling the raid only one person and the priest will receive the benefit from Rapture at most every 12 seconds.

Considering we hit 10% somewhere between 13 and 14 minutes into the fight:
13.5 min * 60 sec per min / 12 sec between procs = 68 possible procs.

Not that Rapture still isn't wonderful, but due to the 12 sec CD for both the target and caster side of Rapture, if you're bubbling a lot it is difficult to control who gets that benefit.

Maybe this is what was meant in the article, but the way I'm reading it, I interpreted it as saying that the rapture proc will happen for targets on a separate CD or without a CD.

Raid Rx: Frustrations of 2-healing a 10-player raid {WoW}

Feb 26th 2010 1:46PM Sort of ended up 2 healing most of ICC10. In my previous guild I 2 healed it as Disc with a resto druid. We'd do 2 heals through first 4, Festergut, Rotface, Putricide and Blood Princes.

Then we'd have ret pali dual spec to prot, and the other druid go resto. Then do the remaining bosses with that setup. (I'd go holy for Valithria)

Feb 1st 2010 7:07PM Yeah, I second that. I'm in all ilvl 245+ pretty much, and I focus entirely on building SP, Crit, Int, Haste. It is so rare that I have any issues with mana running out that I'd never think to use anything but spell power flasks and food (barring a few fights, mostly in 10 mans).

Then, with ~33% holy crit, and almost 600 haste unbuffed, there's not much to be gained from using either food buff over the spell power one. The haste is already overkill as disc, I like having it for holy mostly.

Switching over to Holy I do run into mana problems a bit more with my disc-centric gear choices, but even then, I'd expect it to be worse then it is. My 32k+ mana pool (buffed) shrinks a fair bit in the switch, but between mana fiend, hymn of hope and a mana pot I can last pretty well.

Jul 31st 2009 11:18AM As someone who maintains 100% or close to raid attendance on a 4 or 5 day raiding schedule I would never even consider joining a guild that used /roll as a loot system. Gear should go to the person who will make best use of it, not whoever happens to be lucky.

IMHO DKP (and similar) systems are for somewhat casual to fairly serious but not bleeding-edge raiding guilds.

For top guilds loot council is generally the way to go. With the level of commitment and roster stability that these guilds require it is probably the ideal system. With a solid team that isn't bloated by a bunch of people with

May 31st 2009 11:14PM err that was all my 25 experience... actually I haven't been back in to clear 10 man Mim, I haven't done Ulduar 10 in a few weeks so I was there when we nearly got him down but somehow it all went to hell in phase 4. Healing itself wasn't really that bad all together for 10 man.
