Feb 25th 2009 2:31PM My first impression on the four colors thing was from a priest perspective, you've got two armor sets per tier, and you've got two tiers.
So one healing 10 man, one healing 25 man, one dps 10 man, one dps 25 man.
But that would lead to paladins requiring 6 colors, so I'm not sure this is the right answer.

The finish it! speech is quite possibly the worst piece of voice acting in the game right now.
Nov 25th 2008 11:49AM Actually it wouldn't necessarily have to wait until the next expansion at all. All it would take to overhaul the defense stat to apply equally to each tanking class would be talents low in the prot/feral/frost trees that would read something along the lines of "Gives 1% dodge rating for each x defense rating" for bears, "Gives 1% block rating for each x defense rating" for pallies, etc. It could be applied similar to spell coefficients, and for those classes that use multiple mitigation strategies you could spec into the ones you want.
It makes a lot of sense from a real-world mechanic sense as well, since two martial arts masters might be equally good at defending themselves, but one would be a master of parrying and another might be better at blocking or dodging.

Nov 3rd 2008 10:40AM My position has always been, and continues to be, that it's a nice ability but it doesn't belong as the 51 point talent. It has its uses, and when I find myself spontaneously tanking a boss because my dot ticked right after a threat wipe, it's my go-to button.
But a mana potion/iceblock without debuff wiping does not belong that deep in the tree.
Oct 14th 2008 8:39PM The flaw in your argument is that if you're getting pounded on, you've probably got dots on you and dispersion doesn't remove them - so if you bandage you're lucky to get one tick off before the channel is broken.
My position has always been it'd be a nice baseline add, or maybe up further in the shadow tree (make vamp embrace baseline and put this in its place) but it has no place as a 51 point talent.
Aug 4th 2008 11:11AM Our guild (Dirty Double Dozen on Hellscream) was able to reverse all the issues we'd been having with people skating on raids with instituting a new loot policy. The basic rules were that raiders get first chance on loot over non-raiders. To get raider rank, you have to attend a certain percentage of raids over the last month, and you get credit for being there even if you don't get into the raid group.
Last week we got first kills on Kaz'rogal and Anatheron after a month or two of trying to scrape together two raids per week.
Apr 25th 2008 2:14PM It's not uncommon for at least one tree to have a completely pvp-gimped talent per class. Think tree of life, or vampiric touch, or shamanistic rage.
Mar 28th 2008 11:44AM As a shadow priest, i have no sympathy for your complaint that you use mana faster than you can regen it via potions and AOV. We chain chug mana pots 4 days a week in raids, and never encounter the FSR so spirit regen is either 0 or 30% if you've specced into the discipline tree.
And just think about it - you use pots unless you've got a SP in your group. We chain chug them despite the fact that we've always got one in the group.
