Through Turbine's palantír: Developers outline LotRO's future {Massively}

Apr 21st 2011 1:35PM I feel so sad about this. I got my first toon into Moiria and just got plain bored. I thought I would enjoy the area more, and I thought working on LI's would be more interesting, but sadly, I was wrong. I unsubbed about a month or so before Update 2.

I'm pretty sure I'm burned out on MMOs, not just bored with LotRO in particular, and seeing all these new and exciting announcements makes me want to play it again.....except I don't want to play it again (or any other MMO for that matter).

But, I still log in every few weeks to pay the maintenance on my House, so who knows....maybe in 6 months I'll feel like jumping back into Middle Earth again.

In the meantime Turbine, keep 'em coming. If I do come back, I want lots of stuff to dive into!

The Daily Grind: What do you think about stealth? {Massively}

Apr 19th 2011 11:17AM In PvP, Stealth creates the ultimate paradox, which in turn leads to butthurt feelings all around.

Person killed by Stealth Class: I was stunned and crippled from 100% - 0%, and couldn't do anything to prevent it. Not fair!
Stealth Class: Yes, but outside of stealth, we are very vulnerable, so if we don't kill you quickly, we are easy meat.

Stealth Class blown up by another Person: I was literally 1 shot / globaled by a . We need better defensive tools or increased survivabilty, otherwise we are just free kills
Person who killed Stealth Class: Stop sucking and use stealth.

Both parties would be happier if stealth didn't exist imo

Power play: Warhammer Online's 1.4.2 patch improves Tier 4 [Updated] {Massively}

Apr 19th 2011 11:11AM @Deadalon

Exactly! For a PvP game, patches are all about numbers / fixes / tweaks.

I think the OP might be under the mistaken impression that WAR contains PvE content.

Blizzard adds WoW guild chat to iPhone Mobile Armory app {Massively}

Apr 19th 2011 11:08AM I'm really glad Blizzard released this app, and hopefully it won't require tons of maintenance. That would free up personel to focus on the unimportant stuff of WoW like class balance, bug fixes, releasing non-recycled content, and maybe...just maybe...get those shiney 'ponies' ready for release.

Breakfast Topic: Has your account ever been compromised? {WoW}

Apr 19th 2011 9:37AM I have never been hacked, but sadly, my wife had her account hacked while it was inactive. She had quit the game in Jan 2010, but someone re-activated her account in June of that year, using a Free month sub promo. Friends of ours told us they had seen her toons running around. Her account was frozen 2 weeks after it was hacked, but we didn't do anything about it because we weren't sure if we would ever go back to playing WoW. When Cata came near release, she decided to play again and reactivate her account, and put in a ticket to get her gear back.

What we didn't know is that Blizz cannot restore items delete beyond a certain time period (about a month), which left her toons without gold, crafting mats, and worse, WITHOUT HEIRLOOMS, of which she had a full set (she likes leveling alts).

So if you get hacked, don't wait on putting in a ticket - do it right away!

The Road to Mordor: My wish list for 2011 {Massively}

Jan 15th 2011 7:11PM @deluxe2000

Agree 100%

This was primarily the reason I stopped playing my Champ. She was dual-wielding axes, and although I would execute a maneouver that saw her strike multiple times with her weapons, all you hear is a mild 'whoosh' sound, and a string of yellow numbers scroll up over the mobs head.

Turbine can do much better I think.

The Road to Mordor: A year in Middle-earth {Massively}

Dec 31st 2010 5:37PM I started playing F2P back in September, went VIP 5 days later, and haven't looked back.

It has it's problems like any other MMO, and sure, there are things I'd like changed, and things that don't make sense.

But so far I'm happy, satisfied, feel I'm getting my money and time's worth; I wish I could have said the same about WoW.

Massively's top five MMO trailers of 2010 {Massively}

Dec 30th 2010 6:58AM Call me weird, but I had never seen that SWTOR trailer.

Holy @#$@%@ @#$@ !!!!!

I have to admit I wasn't all that interested in the game, despite being a huge star wars fan, but man, that trailer made me sit up and take notice, which is it's purpose. So, job well done!

Ultimately, I think it will still fail, as the game will distill down to 1000 trash talking adolescents playing Jedi named Legolllelas, but man, that was a nice trailer!

The Daily Grind: When has an MMO made you feel least like a hero? {Massively}

Dec 26th 2010 2:56PM I killed the Elemental Lord Ragnaros
I killed the old god C'thun
I killed Illidan and his Lts.
I killed the Blue Dragon Aspect
I killed Arthas

and you want me to bring this parcel to WHO? Do you not know who I AM? /sigh

It's a game and all, but it would be nice to have some recognition for killing dragons*

*although you sort of got that in the first quest hub in WoTLK - still, some 'welcome heroes of azeroth, outland and northrend' would be nice.

Updated: On the first day of giveaways, Turbine gave to me... {Massively}

Dec 13th 2010 2:18PM I played DDO for a few months, but I have to say, I much prefer LoTRO.

Crafting, Mounts, a living world (not everyting in an instance), the variety in classes, really make the game stand out. It's a shame that games like WoW have eclipsed titles like Lotro. It certainly has it's own fair share of issues, but I can't help but wonder if the subscriber base were larger, with Turbine raking in more $, perhaps improvements could be made.

Still, I'm loving the game, and hope to play it for many moons to come!
