Aug 11th 2008 6:18PM @Guernia:
As to what counts as a guild run... seems easy enough, just make a cap at, say, 80%. If 80% of the people who kill the boss are in one guild, that guild gets credit for the boss. That's 20/25 or 8/10 people. Sounds fair. If you PuG, sorry, that's just the way it works.
If you're in a guild and help earn points for that guild, and then leave, the guild keeps the points you helped earn. As it's a 10/25 (more including battlegrounds) man effort, no other option makes sense.
As to the Recruiting UI, I believe the opposite would be true. Currently the small guilds either don't have websites at all, or they're hard to find. If there was a way to inspect guilds, you could check out that random guild-you've-never-seen-before on the guy in your PuG 5man. Additionally, if it's more of a LFGuild type interface, you could at least have a listing of Guilds to research/app too.
Aug 11th 2008 2:01AM I, personally, have nothing against role players...
Unfortunately, my night elf druid hates them with a passion.
Jul 18th 2008 2:01AM These patch notes are posted by a blue on the official beta forums so I'm guessing they're as real as it gets =D
Jul 18th 2008 1:56AM If you read the notes, all threat issues are being changed and are being "rolled into" the tanks job. Tanks will produce more damage and threat (like maul being buffed with mangle, defensive stance +45% threat--up from 30%, etc).
Jul 17th 2008 2:05AM Who is this article aimed for? I'm all for helping people *really* new to the game and new to gaming in general... but a video of strafing? that seems like way way overkill. I mean, we have to assume the readers of this blog actually own the game or are playing with someone else's account... If they want to see what strafing looks like or what ctrl-tab does... they could just do it in game.
This article is basically a wordy version of the little cheat sheet that comes with the game.
Jun 21st 2008 1:41AM I agree, this loot is too phat. My server has one guild doing full clears in Sunwell (Deus Vox woo). I bet most servers don't even have that. (Wowjutsu has 30 guilds worldwide that have Kil'jaeden kills).
I'd rather these articles apply to the masses instead of the top 0.01%.
Besides, you aren't exactly shocking anyone here... What? The end boss of the entire expansion drops a really good staff? No way!
I'd much rather see articles of really cool lower level items that can still be useful to higher level toons (like water-breathing staves or toy transformation items) or exceptional drops from lower level tier content/pvp (things that are hard to replace due to being above and beyond the tier level they drop in).
Jun 19th 2008 8:48AM The only thing I don't like about this change is the fact that I have 6 characters over level 40.
I'm appreciating this more vicariously.
Jun 16th 2008 5:50PM You're all right!
My prediction is this. At first, the mats will drop in price. This will be due to less alts leveling it (as more people will be playing their mains through the new content) and more people with 375 skill selling off their surplus (since some of it won't ever be needed again). After people are level 80 for a while, the mats prices will go back up, possibly higher than before. This seems to be about how it was pre-BC but I could be wrong.
Jun 9th 2008 7:19PM In regards to "defensive leather"... It looks like they're doing away with leather with +defense rating on it altogether. The alpha gives druids 3% more defense from talents which makes us uncrittable w/o gear.
But, of course, heavy strength and armor will still point towards a druid but those stats aren't as useless as defense currently.
