Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War cover revealed {WoW}

Mar 24th 2012 9:00AM Glad Christy is writing this, she's a good author and i liked her treatment of thrall and arthas.

Hi, remember me? I've been here since 2004 {WoW}

Mar 9th 2012 6:36PM I came back yesterday via sor. Got free xfer, level 80 toon and 7 days free. NO intention of staying. I would say the vets got screwed if they want this stuff. Of course they could always cancel and sor.

5 not-so-simple ways Blizzard can fix the World of Warcraft Auction House {WoW}

Feb 22nd 2012 7:10AM You know, if they just bit the bullet and offered free xfers like other games (Rift), that would solve many problems. THat they choose not to do this speaks about where they are for customer satisfaction. I imagine there is a fairly large group of players who were playing and happy then quit because their server sucked when they were ready to try end-game (which is most needed to have an active high population).

As to the other point - globalisation, it would be a bad idea since it would lead to further monopolisism. Suddenly you'll have 1-2 guys (or worse - bots) who are sitting there 24/7 and reposting for 1c lower than everyone else, and completely destroying markets. Not to mention the competition. We don't really need 10 guys (or 100 or 1000 guys) selling the exact same things. Globalism may seem like a good idea but it would completely kill the economy, sure a very few people would get rich, but the vast majority of sellers would get nothing.

Gold selling - my feeling is that they could do it or not. I'm to the point where I would buy credits from an offiical source if they were available in TOR. I don't need WoW gold because they have fantastic addons for AH management, and I'm filthy rich in that game. But TOR is much harder to compete in, the interface is much worse.

Shifting Perspectives: A ray of hope for druid shifting and talents in Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Feb 17th 2012 7:16PM Hmm, seems interesting. It would have helped if you actually showed a tooltip or something concrete that blizzard says. Right now this all a bunch of conjecture. Start with fact and hypothesize from there. Anyway, it remains to be seen but 30% healing boost can be nice, what would be nice is if they allowed TOL to be chosen by any druid spec, so when you need to heal as an emergency heal you can pop that if you are balance. If you are feral you probably would not do that due to lack of spellpower. At least this is some ray of hope that MOP isn't going to be a complete joke.

World of Warcraft subscriber numbers dip 100,000 to 10.2 million {WoW}

Feb 9th 2012 6:44PM Some who play TOR may go back to WoW,and that's great, however there is a population that is just going to stop altogether. TOR is kinda a last gasp of the genre for some of us, once I am done with TOR (fairly soon I imagine), i really don't see any MMO keeping my attention. People who played WoW when it first started in the ideal age bracket (mid 20s) are now mid 30s, for me I'm expecting my kid in 2 months. How much time will Sprout give me to play MMOs? Pretty much none I am guessing. That's okay, after 7 years i've had enough.

World of Warcraft subscriber numbers dip 100,000 to 10.2 million {WoW}

Feb 9th 2012 6:41PM I also quit a while back. I play TOR now. Anyway these numbers are actually pretty good, and blizzard has done an amazing job leveraging their products to penetrate new markets and boost the bottom line in the face of mediocre content and a lack of anything compelling on the horizon (for much of the player base). Given that their biggest competition ever was launched during this quarter, this is pretty amazing.

Now for why we care whose numbers are what. I don't, not really. I like blizzard and I want them to succeed. I'll be picking up D3 when it releases. I also want Bioware to succeed.

Blue Posts and Other WoW News: Transmogging, A WoW turn around {WoW}

Feb 3rd 2012 6:45AM Yeah their dev cycle is slow. There is something to be said for that; its not necessarily a bad thing.

Blue Posts and Other WoW News: Blizzard considering changing the "Skyrim" Ultraxion trash, answers on raid nerfs {WoW}

Jan 19th 2012 6:10AM TK was well known for its brutal raid-wiping trash. Ah the memories. Anyway i wonder how many are still doing DS? It has to be pretty small percentage by now, certainly less than tier 11.

Drama Mamas: Friends like these {WoW}

Dec 20th 2011 6:46AM Yeah this reminds me of my guild. Not my RL friends who wow, generally they are great and i love hanging with them. After a while i just got tired of constantly carrying everyone, so now I only BG and do randoms. Sad. But there you go. If you can't even do the 4.3 dungeons I don't know what to say (as in not skilled enough). There is definitely a very large group that blizz completely ignored this expac, the group who plays but has zero skill or desire to improve. In the past i've had to do things like level toons on separate characters, and join raid guilds on that toon, just to see content. Which got to be overwealming because i was a founder of the social guild and was expected to carry them through various things. Nowadays I don't even raid, i haven't seen any raid except LFR this expac. It's sad but oh well. Its just not worth the wife aggro and friend aggro.

GL to the OP. Remember life is not all about raiding, but it seems like if you want to raid, you should raid. IF they are really your friends they will understand.
