About the Bloggers: V'Ming Chew {WoW}

Apr 9th 2008 4:46AM This article brings back some fond memories for me as well... yes DM was one of the more memorable instances. I remembered we took pictures of each others as we took turns on the ogre suit...and even one lady who adamantly refused cos it made her 'ugly'.

Sadly, just as V'Ming has said, the feeling is no longer there for me when I run new instances like MgT. Nowadays, it is mostly hit-and-run and loot/badge oriented.

Anyway, great article V'Ming, and keep it up!

Blood Sport: Season 3, rise of the Hunter? {WoW}

Nov 15th 2007 3:06PM @6: You made my day... I was laughing so hard. :)

Anyway.... shamans....I don't think the buff bar is so high as depicted.

Enh shammies got some nice buff (free spellpower, shamanistic rage). But experienced enh shammies will know that the main problems are not solved. Shamanistic rage is still dispellable (despite being called 'rage'). There's still no way to close the distance. Still... there were some nice buffs and I think overall it helped.

Resto shammies are better than ever now they have some free spell damage. Still, main role in Arena won't change, but its a nice buff.

Elem shammies are slightly buffed. LO is 20% and provides a slightly more reliable burst, and would've been very nice buff for shammies if not for the spell tax increase. Although Blizzard tinkered with the coefficient a bit to compensate, Elemental Master+Chainlightning simply hits alot less unless LO procs (20% chance). Water shield and mana spring buffs are nice too.

Grounding totem is nerfed. That hurts all 3 specs.

Blood Sport: Building an Arena team, part 1 {WoW}

Nov 11th 2007 5:28AM Pretty good article.
@6: I don't think anyone dares to claim to be a arena master or master of every class. If the writer really tries (or can) write indepth analysis of Arena, it will probably run 10 pages long and be way too technical for the general mass.

I play a shaman mainly, and I have to say your comments about Shaman control is way overrated: "Shamans have control of the match through things like Grounding and Earthbind Totem, Earth Shock and Frost Shock." As any shaman who pvp will tell you, grounding totem procs infrequently and has a short area effect. Earthbind is useless against some classes that are on you (eg MS warrior who charges/hamstrings you), earthshock has a 5sec CD (with talent) and is situational in combat. Grounding totem is getting nerfed in 2.3. Shaman is one of the classes with the least control since we have no cc or anti-cc.

Don't mash in 2.3! {WoW}

Nov 5th 2007 11:27AM Good update. This was one issue that many players discovered in PTR for 2.3 that caused their DPS to go down quite a bit... due to the renewal of GCD.
