Feb 17th 2010 12:02AM "Playing catch with your tank.
... What you do have is the ability to turn a mob into a tank-seeking missile. Line yourself up between the mob and the tank and Storm away."
Umm, did you mean "Line the mob up between yourself and the tank and Storm away"? Because that would make more sense. Otherwise you're blasting them even further away from the tank.

They could just put the vendors outside the instance? :O
Jan 26th 2010 8:33PM This is still definitely an issue. Mobs in Halls of Lightning, Halls of Stone, Gundrak, Trial of the Champion and Violet Hold still seem to run behind the tank. As a druid tank this drives me mental.
Jan 26th 2010 7:56PM Question for the queue:
In the final room of Halls of Lightning, on the opposite side to where you enter there seems to be another door that's locked, but guarded by two Stormforged Constructs.
Are there any clues as to what might be behind said door?

Are you suggesting Avatar was live-action?
Jan 20th 2010 6:46PM There's plenty of grassy fields around the world, but they need some where nobody actually lives.
Jan 19th 2010 5:34PM Sorry for the double post (damn you, lack edit button!), but I just wanted to remark how nice it is to have a shaman writer who seems to know what he's talking about when it comes to Elemental.
As much love as I have for Matt Rossi and all of shaman-kind, I got a bit tired of reading the endless Enhancement articles, or Elemental articles filled with comments like "I haven't played elemental for a while but this change seems like..."
This is a well written, accurate account of Elemental shamans in the current World of Warcraft. Thanks for the article!
Jan 19th 2010 5:20PM Great guide, quite accurate. But just a quick word on mp5:
mp5 does have a DPS value in a roundabout way. Despite what this guide suggests, as Elemental you DO run out of mana, particularly on fights that allow you to stand and cast without interruption.
Using Thunderstorm in any rotation to keep the OOM monster at bay is an overall DPS loss because it'll "waste" a global cooldown, therefore extending the time it takes you to run out of mana is of notable benefit.
mp5 should not be specifically sought after - this is not what I'm saying. However it should not be completely written off.
Jan 14th 2010 7:01PM I play elemental, and on the ICC trash leading up to Lord Marrowgar, I only come second in AoE DPS to our hunter (who far outgears me). I beat both an arcane mage and demo warlock who also far outgear me.
Fire Nova has been a fantastic AoE buff for shamans, and particularly for elemental shamans who have so much spell power. My only issue with it is how awkward and cumbersome it is to use. To avoid pulling aggro you want to be at a distance, but to use Fire Nova you need to run into melee range. If you're using FN with Magma totem, you're doing this over and over.
What I'd like is a way to "throw" your four totems to a particular location, similar to how Mages/Warlocks/Hunters/DKs target their AoE spells. Even if it had a short range (say, 20yd), it'd still be a helluva lot less awkward than the way we need to use our AoE now.
Dec 21st 2009 6:45PM Sorry just saw above, someone posted the results.
98 for a 25 player is rough! I'm glad our guild only runs 10 player raids. :)
