Forum post of the day: Moving moments {WoW}

Jul 10th 2008 4:24AM Sometimes I think people forget that battlegrounds didn't always exist in WoW... in those days the only PvP that existed were the people who learned to use the global defense channel and did inter-continental assault and defense (Though as I remember, most of it centered around Hillsbrad).

Class balance wasn't always this heavily based on PvP it was actually more about making all of the classes equally enjoyable and viable to play for solo or group play in a PvE environment. PvP, in the start was something that was and felt like it was just tossed in so people could "pwn the other side" and maintain some horde vs. alliance rivalry. (What fun is being enemies if all you can do is send /rude emotes back and forth?)

Blood Sport: RMP Rampage {WoW}

May 4th 2008 1:39AM Did someone just learn the word "judicious"?

Breakfast Topic: Do you give to beggars? {WoW}

Apr 26th 2008 8:46AM WoW isn't like life... it isn't like some people just get the shaft by society and end up poor due to conditions beyond their control.

The game is designed so that you have the means to support yourself at every level. If you find yourself without money to train at level 20, there is a pretty good chance that you were spending it on overpriced greens on the auction house at level 18.

The best way to deal with beggars is to tell them to get out of Orgrimmar/Ironforge and kill something for a while.

With the largely inflated economy since the game began, it is possible to make infinitely more money than it used to before TBC came out. Greens that used to sell for 30s now go for 2g because of the addition of daily quests that funnel hundreds of thousands of gold into the economy. At the early levels, you are at a prime place to cash in on this inflation as long as you kill something and get the drops.

"Make them bleed blue" {WoW}

Jan 31st 2008 3:29AM This is a horrible, horrible idea... in fact it is ideas like this that get classes ridiculous buffs (Arcane shot dispel is WAY more than reasonable hunters were expecting in the way of pvp viability)

Bleeding mana? Anyone who doesn't think that mana reduction abilities aren't rampant enough in pvp, clearly hasn't played arenas in quite a long time.

To everyone who is suggesting more of this style of mana reduction play:

1. Spend some time pvping while not using your energy/rage, that is what it is like for a mana user who has no mana.
2. Roll a healer, specifically a paladin who gets virtually no regen without drinking.
3. Try drinking in arenas with a hunters pet on you. (As it probably will be if you are being viper stung)

ps. Whoever suggested MS mana... do you people ever consider the consequences of your suggestions if they went through?

I will toss my own ridiculous paladin oriented suggestion out there: 2 words --- Grounding Aura.

Growing confidence {WoW}

Nov 7th 2007 6:27PM I definitely feel more like a star as a tank than a healer... dps'ers dont notice the healer so much but everyone notices a good tank.

It's nice getting several tells every time you get online from various former puggers to tank.

Patch 2.3: Twinks become gods {WoW}

Oct 30th 2007 3:52AM What is skilled about the 19 bracket? You have, what? 4 abilities at that point? Heaven forbid someone bring a regular leveling character into that bracket, even one at the high end (17, 18, or 19).

Let me dispel a few myths here:
- Twinks love it when regulars come in... it ups their KB count
- The twinked character who likes fighting other twinked characters is the exception. Most twinks clear out regulars before even looking at the opposing twink.
- It doesn't take long to twink a character. No, you didnt spend months upon months doing this, you went on 3 WC runs and had a level 70 friend protect you in STV one afternoon.

On another note, its not comparable to level 70s... I have 2 level 70s with crap pvp gear and its nothing like fighting in the 19 bracket when I come against people in full Merciless Gladiator. I have a chance against them as two-shotting people in PVP doesnt happen at 70.

Just needed to vent. Twinking isn't going anywhere and I know that. You guys can keep it, just please stop talking about how hard it is like we are supposed to empathize with the plight of the twink.
