Apr 28th 2008 5:52PM As a raiding mage with 3-10 fps during raids (10 out of combat, 2-3 in combat), I can definitely agree that mages are the best raiding class to play if you're a low end user -- although I do have a guildie who has the same crappy FPS and manages to tank during raids.
If you're experiencing stunted DPS because of framerate, I highly suggest getting Quartz to replace your cast bar. With the recent changes to latency and casting, there's no reason to be out DPS'd by the main tank. ;)
Mar 29th 2008 12:07PM I still remember my first epic drop... it was a Flurry Axe off a wolf in Blasted Lands. I was about 100 xp away from dinging, and needed to kill just one mob to do so. Well, well, well. ;)
The second epic drop was just 10 levels later in Un'goro... I think it something like Bloodstrike, and it dropped off one of those raptors -- again, the first mob I killed the zone just happens to drop a shiny new epic. Needless to say, these two items funded my epic mount (back when it was still cheap to train, expensive to buy the mount).
Just when I thought I would never see an epic again, I was grinding Aldor marks out in Netherstorm when an Epic blacksmithing plan dropped. I thought for sure that this would get me started on getting my epic flying mount, but I foolishly devoted it to leveling Jewelcrafting on my alt. :(
Feb 17th 2008 10:34AM My online persona is wildly different from my actual persona. In game, I'm very light-hearted and constantly making stupid jokes/puns... but get me on vent, and I'm the quietest person you'll meet. To top it off, I have the deepest voice that completely throws people off when they know my toon is a gnome.
Feb 5th 2008 6:49PM I've had this happen as well, and I'm on a Mac. Only my girlfriend knows my password, and she was in the room when I kept getting continuously disconnected until I wisenedd up and hastily changed my password. It stopped right after that.
Jan 22nd 2008 11:54AM I've been a fan of the WarCraft series ever since I was young and played the original WarCraft game. I'd never played an MMO before, but when Blizzard announced they were making a WarCraft MMO, I knew this would be the first one I'd ever want to play.
I think the first time I ever really "got" it was playing on the open beta as a nelf hunter. I got to the Barrow Den (I think) when I realized that it was really frustrating for a single player to be running through this place, and I noticed a few others having the same problem... so we grouped up and started clearing things on our own.
Some time during that session, I was marveled by the thought of leisurely playing through a dungeon with actual human beings rather than AI-controlled NPCs that had the IQ of a nail. What's more, is that this wasn't some frantic shoot-em-up deathmatch sort of multiplayer game that I had been used to -- it was even more fun just working together with others in an online game.
Jan 20th 2008 10:03AM Funny thing was, I took a break to get ready for bed, and watch some TV with my girlfriend. By the time I had gotten back online, it was as if nothing ever happened. /shrug Good timing, I guess. :)
Dec 30th 2007 6:00PM I've leveled at least four classes to level 40... Mage, Warrior, Shaman, and Priest. The Mage is at 70, the Priest is just a few levels from 60, and the Shaman and Warrior are eternally stuck at 40.
The remaining classes I've gotten to at least 20 are Rogue, Hunter, Paladin.
That said, I cannot for the life of me get past the starting zone with a druid. Something about that class is just so mind numbingly dull that I can't hope to get anywhere with a druid. Possibly because I hate playing as Tauren and Night Elf.
Dec 13th 2007 10:18AM I sense an attunement for a certain dwarven instance in Northrend...
Nov 30th 2007 1:04PM Sophey is right... sometimes people just leave guilds because they're just plain tired of doing the same crap week after week. I know I've seen several people leave my guild because they want to do TK/SSC instead of making Gruul's the "big raid" every single week.
We've been making progress as the guild poaching on my server has begun to slow, and the members that have left us have been replaced and geared up to the point where we've been able to do Hydross/Lurker/Void Reaver on a consistent basis.
