Scattered Shots: Improving hunter PVP {WoW}

Oct 14th 2011 8:12PM hunters have *always* been the worst pvp'ers, by far... save for maybe like a couple week period, right before the Outland expansion, when we had new talents but not the extra talent points yet. For those couple weeks hunters were actually balanced. That's pretty much it.

Think about it ... how many years did they deal with a HUGE dead zone ... people argued that it was necessary or they'd be OP ... years pass of hunters being free kills ... finally Blizz says, okay, let's try reducing the dead zone a bit. Wow, what do you know... hunters didn't magically become OP. Huh, I guess they *were* gimp, and didn't need that huge dead zone. Oh well, our bad.

So, now, years of smaller but still there dead zone, let's look at the stats... gee, hunters STILL worst PvPers in game, by far.

Just get RID of the dead zone, altogether. If Blizz would just try it for a little bit I bet they'd find hunters are *almost* on par with other classes PvP-wise. Just try it, you'll see. Of course, there will be a backlash, and an outrage from other classes, but Blizz has to realize it won't be because hunters are OP now .... they will just *seem* OP to everyone for a while, simply because they used to be free kills, and now they're winning half the time, so people will naturally be upset. But, just bloody try it, and look at the win/lose stats, NOT what Warriors, locks, and DK's are saying just because they can't understand how they could lose to a hunter even once.

Sep 27th 2011 1:05PM Leveling the first character is great ... new content, seeing the world, questing instead of raiding ... a nice refreshing change every expansion.

Leveling all my other toons, however, is tedious, boring, and painful. Being forced to go through everything again is just plain painful. Actually, I used to keep 3 toons at max level ... one pure dps (my main), one tank, and one healer ... but with Cata I just couldn't bear leveling my second and third toons, so now I have one 85, and two 80s. I'm guessing I'll just have 1 toon from now on. /shrug

Sep 2nd 2011 10:28PM I wish they would do a pay-for-levels things.... for people who already 1 max level character. I got my hunter to 85, but my priest and drood are stuck at 80 just cus I can't bear to level again. I love to play them, and help with healing and tanking in raids, but I just can't bear to go through leveling again.

I'd pay like 5 bucks a level to get my alts up to the level of my main.

Breakfast Topic: What size and frequency do you prefer for expansions? {WoW}

Sep 2nd 2011 12:30PM Every 5-man dungeon ( *every* *one*) should just scale up with each new expansion to have a max-level heroic version. Skip updating old raids (except for the ones that can be easily made into 5-man heroics) ... heck, most guilds can't get through all of the raid content of whatever the current expansion is. Raiders can keep banging their heads against whatever the current raid is, and then the heroic versions of those raids.

But, heroic dungeons are the lifeblood of WoW. They're what people do who don't have the time or desire to deal with raiding with large groups of people. But gathering 4 friends it much easier. It would be nice if on any given night I could gather a couple friends and tackle on "old" heroic we might not have run in months, if not years. Make an 85 heroic version of SM, Maraudon, Dire Maul, all the Nexus, Utguarde, Auchindoun, Blackrock Mt, and Tempest Keep dungeons., Everything. EVERYTHING.

Instead of SO much content going to waste like it is now, it could be what we do every night (instead of taking a break from WoW like I am now), and with minimal effort by Blizz. The content is already made, done. They just have to tweak the numbers to scale the difficulty. And, of course, give us a reason to run them. My first inclination is to say to just make them worth a little valor for each boss, and all the gear can be the same as originally dropped in each instance, but all scaled up to be *almost* as good as current gear. So, people would run them just to get valor and stuff to transmog, but if your gear really happens to suck maybe you'll even find some of it useful.

Ultimately, I think being able to run a different heroic every day of the month, without hitting the same one twice, would keep a lot of 'casual' players like me around full time, instead of all the people leaving and taking breaks once they've run the 'new' heroics a hundred times. Blizz should make good use of all that content.

Scattered Shots: Improving the hunter pet trees {WoW}

Jul 8th 2011 12:16PM Wow needs tanks. Everyone knows that.

Make the BM tree *severely* gimp the hunter's dps, while at the same time buff the pet so much so as they can actually be a true tanking class. Not just some wimpy almost-but-not-quite an offtank, but a true tank, usable in heroics and raids.

Basically, all the talents in the BM tree would be pet tanking talents, except for maybe some hunter survivability talents (which you'll need if you're, like, standing in fire while you're trying to position a boss with your pet.)

Yeah, I know this would never happen, but it would be incredible if Blizz could pull it off. Why create another whole new tanking class when they can probably fix the shortage with the tons of hunters already out there.

Breakfast Topic: Do you miss any of the old content? {WoW}

Jun 19th 2011 10:32PM I actually just quit WoW after like 6 or 7 years of playing (well, quit is a harsh word... I'll say, I've started my break) simply because there is nothing really to do any more. I'm not into PvP, and my guild (like a lot of guilds now) has taken a break from raiding, and I've outgeared all heroics and already ran za/zg 100x and am SICK of them.

One thing would have kept me playing tho, and it's simple .... Blizzard should just make top-level heroic versions of ALL dungeons. Every. Single. One.

It wouldn't even be that much work ... just tweaking of variables... how much damage mobs and bosses do, and how much health they have. It seems silly to me that there is SO much content out there now that is going to waste ... there should be 85 heroic versions off all the Tempest Keep heroics, all the Auchindoun heroics, all the Hellfire Citadel heroics.... UBRS, LBRS, Uldaman, Sunken Temple... everything! You could run a different heroic every day of the month!

And you know what happens when the level cap increases to 90, or 100? That's right... BOOM... all heroics scale up to the new level too Give us the option to run that stuff if we want, for varieties sake.

The only real work I see for Blizzard is coming up with all the new gear that would drop in all these places, to give us an actual reason to run them. But come on, with the money they're bringing in they can hire a couple people to make a bunch more gear. And as long as the bosses drop valor people will run them anyway.

Breakfast Topic: What memorial would you leave behind in WoW? {WoW}

Jun 8th 2011 1:51AM Just a statue of my hunter deep in a heroic dungeon somewhere, standing in the middle of 3 statues of 3 cc'd mobs... 2 iced and 1 slept. (from, you know, back when wow was really fun, and we could actually do that).

Although my guildies would probably say my memorial should just be a statue of me feigning death in the corner of some raid boss's room.
