Blizzard's responses on the Real ID situation {WoW}

First look at Leatherworking in Wrath {WoW}

Aug 14th 2008 5:08AM They'll get to it. The Ebon Netherscale set was bloody fantastic for Leatherworking Hunters. Personally I would like to see two mail sets, one decent Rare one at around level 78, and one kickass Epic one at 80.

Scattered Shots: New and improved abilities {WoW}

Jul 31st 2008 10:05PM Hmmm, I hadn't seen much about Kill Shot yet... this is a very nice addition for Hunters. The biggest application is for burst damage, where we will be able to pop Steady, Auto, Arcane and Kill shots all in a very short amount of time. The only limitation will be the GCD, right?

Breakfast Topic: Achievement Suggestions {WoW}

Jul 21st 2008 8:07AM 1) 10 Epics Ninjaed
2) 100 Corpses camped
3) 10 Enemy faction mind controlled into lava
4) 100 guilds joined and then left two days later
5) 10,000 Chuck Norris comments

etc

Professional benefits in Wrath {WoW}

Jul 20th 2008 8:57PM I would guess they would - that's a pretty good combo for a PvP focused character right there... but of course they won't get access to the BoP created items from other professions like Smithing or Leatherworking. Whether this is worthwhile or not remains to be seen.

Scattered Shots: Talented animals {WoW}

Making the PvE-PvP break {WoW}

Mar 3rd 2008 8:27PM Separating PvP and PvE sounds like a bad idea to me. Having a persistent, coherent world is kinda the whole point of an MMO, where you can make a character that can do everything, or a few things, or just one thing if you feel like it. If you get sick of raiding, try PvP for a few weeks. If your PvP team is away on holidays, do a few heroics and get enough badges for a neat trinket. The game has a much better chance of staying interesting if there are many things to do, instead of just one.

Dress yourself completely in Badge loot {WoW}

Feb 18th 2008 11:11PM /agree with Zach... and also, it allows looking-for-guild players to gear up to possibly join a raiding guild and run stuff like BT. After all, what BT raiding guild is ever going to let a guy in Kara gear in?

Forum post of the day: BOE Vortexes {WoW}

Feb 17th 2008 6:15PM I think the change is a good thing. I have a couple of patterns that require Vortexes, and they're covered in mold. People would crawl over broken glass for me to make items for them, but I can't get Vortexes. Either they don't drop, or someone outrolls / outDKPs me for them. As soon as they're BoE, I'm going to drown in business, and make a killing on crafting fees. There's also going to be a healthy economy for Nethers and Vortexes on the AH as well, which is another nice way to make cash. After all, Heroic Badges are probably better spent buying items than mats, unless you're reeaaaaalllly keen.

There's also money to be made on BoE patterns on the AH, since people will be able to actually get their hands on the mats without 25-man raiding (and then not wanting to spend the cash anyway, because the bloody thing drops in SSC).

Ultimately, this change removes a way that a specific type of player made a huge amount of gold, and replaces it with about four other ways to make good money for a small number of other player types. It's a good thing.

Leatherworking loot, too! {WoW}

Feb 11th 2008 12:09AM Damn, that Embrace of the Phoenix is amazing! Plus, it doesn't need any Sunwell materials! I hope some kind bod sells me that pattern for less than one of my lungs...
