Jun 26th 2010 2:08PM I've been trying to get the bear from the Smurf-Girls and the drake from the Oracles with no luck since Wrath came out. I'm on the verge of shifting over to the puppymen as well at this point just to take out a little frustration . . .
Sep 30th 2009 2:35PM I've always been a little bit bemused by people who go on about how 'only 5' people couldn't defeat so and so boss, it just wouldn't be heroic, make sense (or whatever other argument they are using).
Fantasy literature is filled with examples of just a handful of people or even a single individual defeating the big baddie. What could be more heroic than that? To me, the more people involved, the less heroic it actually seems. And to answer those who state that it isn't realistic for 5 people to defeat the Lich King or any other boss of similar difficulty . . . we are playing elves, dwarves, gnomes, orcs, etc. and using magic spells and weapons . . . I'm not so sure how an argument for realism can be made.
I'm not knocking raids. I enjoy raiding, I just don't think the argument that a small group of people shouldn't be able to down a boss like Arthas holds any weight.

I assure you that Blizz has already set a release date for Cataclysm. Will they release that date to the fan base before they are sure the date is solid? Nope. Not even a chance. No sane development company operates with an open ended release date policy (the its done when its done mentality). There are too many things that go into a software release that require prior planning to work that way.
Aug 28th 2009 3:51PM Cairne will be dead . . . Thrall will be busy with his new job.
Aug 28th 2009 3:46PM I plan on rolling a worgen and leveling it . . . and coming back to my Horde toons as soon as I finish all the new starting quests. I plan on doing the same thing with a goblin toon - just to see all the new content.
Jul 29th 2009 4:03PM I actually prefer Paddys for sentimental reasons . . . but I cannot get it here in the States.
. . . and yes, I am a Protestant (Scots-Irish on one side of the family - the other side is Irish Catholic). :)
Jul 29th 2009 3:35PM I disagree with your choice of spirit (I'm a Bushmills fan myself), but I do agree with the sentiment!
Jun 19th 2009 4:46PM Oh my, I have been through more eggs than I care to count (since maybe a week after Wrath released) and have yet to get my green proto-drake.
If I get another cobra hatchling, I think someone is going to get hurt . . .
Apr 24th 2009 2:58PM If by, "I return to my original premise; people are relentlessly rational. ", you mean that people are relentlessly lazy, I will agree. Your entire premise is that people will always follow the perceived path of least resistance, which is, in my experience, true.
People are lazy. If the gear between 25 mans and 10 mans were equal and you had to chose between one or the other option to raid, 25 mans would die overnight. It's human nature. Sure, you would have some people who continued to run the 25 mans, like there are people who live without modern conveniences by choice, but the numbers would be so small that there would be little justification to continue the expense of supporting both types of raids.
If I were Blizzard the question I would be asking is what are the benefits of having both 25 and 10 man raids and how much does it cost me to balance raid encounters between the two types. Do the benefits outweigh the costs?
