Legal action between ZAM and Curse results in dismissal {WoW}

Feb 19th 2009 8:00PM I'd like to point out two things:

1. Wowhead is part of ZAM now. ZAM was at one point—before Wowhead came on board—owned by the same big media conglomerate that owned IGE. IGE was sold off by the company before Wowhead became part of ZAM. From what I hear, ZAM is splitting off from the larger company and becoming a company in its own right, though I don't know what the status of that is, so don't quote me on it.

2. Mike approached me for an official comment yesterday and I missed the email. Sorry for that, I'll answer his questions as best I can and he can update the story.

Wowhead and Thottbot on ad strike {WoW}

May 7th 2008 1:50PM I'd love to have a list of the agencies that don't serve these ads. We've had a nightmare of a time with everyone we've ever worked with--not just with them, with the advertisers they employ. The advertisers will constantly be changing their keywords, trying to get around the blocks we've put in place AND the blocks that the networks put in place, so that just maybe, at 5pm on a friday night when all the ad agency people have gone home, they can sneak in JUST ONE ad with sound, so it'll be there until somebody comes in to work on the weekend.

May 7th 2008 1:47PM Asteria,

As of this writing, the only ads that are back are the direct sales that you seemed to think that we didn't have any of. =/

Wowhead and Thottbot on ad strike {WoW}

May 7th 2008 1:45PM This again. I have not only answered this concern a million times, I've actually answered it already on this comment chain.

It's just a lie. The company we work with wised up, realized that IGE was going to hell in a handbasket, and sold it. They bought Wowhead after this happened. Investing in legitimate businesses like Wowhead is a more viable strategy in the long run.

Hell, Wowinterface is part of the same network and they're an Official Blizzard Fansite.

May 6th 2008 8:37PM I feel like I must say this a million times.

Hi, I'm Mal. My real name is Casey. I live in San Diego, and I work on Wowhead. I am not a goldfarmer, nor am I in the employ of goldfarmers. Wowhead has never been associated with goldfarmers.

The company that owns the ZAM Network, which Wowhead is a part of, owned IGE at one point in the past. IGE was sold before Wowhead came on board. It's as simple as that.
