The Light and How to Swing It: Tankadin bugs and hidden changes from 4.1 {WoW}

May 6th 2011 5:12PM The Avengers Shield change seems like a fix to the original change of Seal of Truth applying only to single target attacks as an attack that hits up to three targets isn't a single target attack.

Google defends its dropping of H.264, announces WebM plug-ins for IE and Safari {Download Squad}

Jan 17th 2011 1:07PM "One day, out of the blue, the H.264 consortium decides to increase its licensing fees"

One day, every 5 years, by a maximum of 10%. It is in the licenses put out by the MPEG group.

"Google's entire lifeblood is indexing content created by you and me"

Google's entire lifeblood is selling us to advertisers.

The OverAchiever: New and altered Cataclysm achievements, part 2 {WoW}

Sep 9th 2010 5:35PM I'm guessing the world will be flight capable with the pre-Cataclysm patch, now having the ability to fly without the expansion may be another story.

CNET finally pulls the plug on VersionTracker {Download Squad}

Sep 8th 2010 12:22PM Versiontracker.com was one of the first Macintosh software directories that I was aware of. It, along with Macfixit, was a daily browsing destination for many Mac users. So at least in one respect it does mark an end of an era.

Over time I have migrated away from VT to places like MacUpdate and word-of-mouth blogs to find the newest software and with prevalent auto-updating features in new software there really is less of a need for these websites.

Google announces WebM open media format, wins web video wars {Download Squad}

May 20th 2010 12:42PM I'm pretty sure this article was written by someone who does't understand what words like open and proprietary means.

h.264 is an open standard that you may/may not (depends on usage) have to pay for. Apple's stake in h.264 is that it is currently the best video codec for the internet.

Quality wise VP8 is not better, it may be better patent wise. But time will tell there.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: What does arms need? {WoW}

May 7th 2010 4:59PM Hey look, another post about how warriors will be useless in Cataclysm.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Undertuned {WoW}

May 1st 2010 2:15AM " You won't be hitting up to four targets with both weapons instantly anymore."

I am curious when they announced that they were removing Whirlwind from the game?

Las I heard it was a 5% weapon damage attack that hits an unlimited number of targets. So I guess you are partially right, I wont be hitting "up to four" mobs when I whirlwind now, in fact I'll hit up to ∞ targets.

WoW.com reacts to Cataclysm raid changes, page 2 {WoW}

Apr 29th 2010 1:12AM It basically boils down to 25 mans get rewarded with better gear for more difficult out of game experiences. Blizzard is removing that, then again my 10 man raid guild has had turnover every raid and patch so shouldn't I get some extra reward for that since it had frustrated me greatly over the life of the expansion.

Will 25 man raid guilds die? For sure, the ones built on loot only will fall aside just like they do now when progression stops. The ones built on something more than that should thrive, and those players from the guilds that fail could find kindred spirits to form even better 25 man guilds.

Facebook's Instant Personalization catches flack from the U.S. Senate {Download Squad}

Apr 28th 2010 10:20AM Yea. Because personal security and privacy is a nanny state issue.

The Care and Feeding of Warriors: On Future Tanking, Page 2 {WoW}

Mar 5th 2010 2:48PM My issue with tying threat to survival stats is that it blurs the lines too much. Survival stats should stay survival and threat should stay threat, outliers may exist like throwing druids a survival from threat since they were shoehorned into DPS gear.
