*facepalm* Eves super cluster is probably still more powerful, WoT is a completely different game to Eve, it currently has no real persistent world and is more akin to a fps AND its free!
That and the battles are limited to 30 tanks in total (15 a side) so they dont need to worry about load balancing like the eve servers to, it has no trade system, no really guild/corp/group management and no added extras.
Tbh the comparisons to eve are pretty stupid, its closer to CoD4 and its servers than it is to EvE
Sep 11th 2010 3:57AM Having an archaic, un-intuitive and pretty useless UI / controls is not the "hard" setting I want from a game.
WoW's UI isn't the best but it at least doesn't detract from the game! UI's are supposed to be quick and easy to use so that they let you get on and actually enjoy the "game" portion of the game!
You could tighten up the controls, make the ui menu quicker to use and allow you to open several screens for quick gear changes and still have all the fun crafting / mining / combat in this game, its just bad ui design that they have at the moment!
Dec 16th 2009 12:22PM What! EvE is by the the game with the LEAST skill gap for a new player compared to an old one! you can be in the smaller ships and trained up to the level of a 6y/o account within 3-4months its all about focus!
Sure the 6y/o player has more choice and can fly multiple different ships but they can only ever fly one ship at a time and no ship "level" in EvE is useless hell that's why the T1 frigate the rifter is one of the most popular ships in the game!
Aug 28th 2009 4:35AM Well you can rest assured then, as far as i can tell from all the related media i've read, Sov can still be won without Dust participation which ,aside from any economic transcations, will be dusts major impact on the game.
So if no one plays Dust large alliances will just have to go the other routes to hold down systems, and if no ones buying the possible items for dust warriors then no one in eve will take the time to produce them.
Its a pretty clever system, if it works it'll be a great step forward for mmo's, if it dosn't there should be little to no impact on everyday EvE life :)
Jul 29th 2009 6:07AM -.- theres an enourmous difference, Heroin use causes a physical and mental addiction, WoW is purely a mental thing - and even then its still debated whether it counts as a true "addiction".
Jul 22nd 2009 4:39AM I think the "Social Networking" was related to giving access to the ingame mail, and chat and give better access ingame to the forums... not facebook -.-
...But hey way to jump to conclusions!
Jul 6th 2009 4:05PM A game with no gear, no levels just killing is more or less an FPS with a story.
Remove the leveling and character development is removing the RPG, it is one of the defining factors of the genre.
Global Agenda is the closet to an up coming fps/rpg hybrid that i can think of coming up but even that will most likely end up level and gear dependant.
In fact not having leveling or gear would just make the current generation of MMORPG's pointless, as whats the point in questing if you get no tangable reward, yes the difference could be "toned down" but if you do that too much people complain theirs not enough difference and uniqueness in game.
If your looking for something like this then its TF2 all the way but i cant see a way that MMORPGs would work with out this kind of progression!
