Jan 3rd 2008 9:47AM Once again, wowinsider.com regales us with another inane topic. But this one goes further! Let's forget for a moment that WoW is JUST a game...
In what kind of demented world would you ever equate a Healthstone (something that gives you vitality) to a bar of soap (something that washes dirt off you -- don't even try to go to the commercial angle that washing your crud off your body will somehow "re-vitalize" you...).
If you made food, say, green hard candy or something, and call it a "Healthstone," I can see the logic (far-fetched, but ok), but soap??
BTW, when you're using your Healthstone, make sure you don't accidentally drop it while showering at the gym!!
Oh, who am I kidding? WoW players don't go to the gym!!
Jan 2nd 2008 11:53PM Wow! (the exclamation, not the game) The sympathy for this guy just keeps on rolling in!!
Jan 1st 2008 9:06PM This guy is not very bright, is he? I wonder how long it been since he graduated (assuming he did -- you don't really need a degree to do "web design") and started working in the real world?
He's a "web designer," for pete's sakes! For every "web designer" out there, there are probably 100 real developers that can do his job better, faster, and with far less attitude. Managers don't care if you're a "craftsman"; in the real world, you just need to deliver, "on time" which is what they pay you for.
Also, in the real world, you're also expected to work without extra pay when there's a deadline crunch -- I worked 6 months straight last year (nights and weekends) with no extra pay -- of course, I also don't make $12.50 (according to his blog which I assume is per hour??). :P
This guy needs to suck it up and lose the attitude or he's going to be getting fired a lot more. Maybe next time, he won't even get the chance to be fired; they'll just hire the H1B visa guy for pennies on the dollar doing "web design."
Dec 31st 2007 5:15PM The answer to every question is "Alt-F4. If it closes your game, it means you have old video drivers, please go search for newer ones and re-install. Also, when you need money, please target the person and type /d."
Dec 31st 2007 1:24AM One thing is for sure... WowInsider.com has two modes: one is "Cool Insider Tips & Tricks and Good Summary of Patch Notes" and the other, "Lame Topics for Discussion When Its Writers Run Out of Ideas."
It seems it's been stuck in "Lame..." mode for while now...
I predict tomorrow's topic will be:
What is WoW Players' Number #1 Side-band activity while waiting for their raids to start?
a. Picking their noses
b. Picking their navels for lint
c. Picking their noses and putting what they find in their navels!
Please discuss amongst yourselves...
Dec 24th 2007 10:05PM Instead of putting out a podcast, why don't they spend that time coding the next expansion?!?! What? The podcast might not be done by the developers, you say? Well, then what good is it? Who wants to hear a bunch of VPs and Managers go on and on about how they want you to keep playing??
Dec 24th 2007 12:51PM People do stupid things but if you want to see true stupidity, just look at WoW players -- they do the dumbest things around!
Dec 23rd 2007 8:36PM What's the point of posting WoW comments on a non-WoW site? Besides, the comments were not anti-WoW; they were anti-WoW people who are evil, stupid, immature and/or bad. Apparently, Turken is one of them. I'm sorry you don't have any family to spend the holidays; I guess you'll just have to play WoW to pass the time...
Dec 23rd 2007 8:05PM How about not roleplaying at all and have some REAL interaction with some REAL people during the holidays?? Frankly, most people on WoW are pretty bad, immature, stupid, and/or evil. Why bother trying to bring holidays cheers to those miscreants? Spend it with your family with your PCs turned off!
Dec 23rd 2007 11:22AM Reader Lak is retarded! You'd dismiss the machine like you would a mount; I've yet to have a mount "run off" when I go into an inn...wait a minute!! Is this one of those retarded filler articles when WoW Insider has nothing better to report to try to make the game more than what it is by applying real world mechanics to it?
It's a freaking game, people, there is more to life than WoW!!! Don't you have better things to do than to speculate about a fictional universe?
