Officers' Quarters: Casual raiding that works {WoW}

Apr 15th 2008 10:22AM I would also like to reccommend Suicide Kings loot system. We started using it with Kara and we've been very happy with it. It easily allows flexibility when you need it, and is a very casual "non-hostile" loot environment. I can't speak to DKP since we didn't use it, but we chose SK over it and have been very happy. All you need to do is examine the Wiki and decide on your own fine tuning of the rules and go. We maintain 1 loot list, but you can easily maintain 2 (Raid and class) with the SK add-on. This loot system is great for casuals if you are friendly with the guild members. It was very similar to what we had been doing (pass when it isnt as big of an upgrade) but you have the greed roll and the suicide, which removes most, if not all, loot drama when a good piece does drop.

GDC08: Live from Rob Pardo talks about Blizzard's approach to MMOs {WoW}

Feb 21st 2008 10:14AM The reason raiding isn't much mentioned is because its the meat and potatoes portion of the game. Much of it works and is great. I don't buy the "it's heading towards PvP focus" crap. PvE is, was, and always will be the main concern. But, it has the least problems, and PvP has the most and therefore they spend a disproportionate amount of time on it. Everything about an expansion tells you what's most important to the game. With the BC we got tons of great raiding and PvE content. If WotLK didn't take this even further THEN you'd have an argument about PvP. They are trying to bring up the PvP game since that keeps a lot of subscribers interested in the game that don't/won't can't do raiding content.

Breakfast Topic: Hacked {WoW}

Feb 15th 2008 9:22AM Thank you for the useful information!

I would also highly reccomend you don't get a false sense of security with Firefox. All the reccomendations just make it a bigger and bigger target, and it's just as bad as IE for vulnerablilites. (Use whichever you like, but make sure to up the security!)
